“A series of seemingly miraculous events led them to the property and being able to purchase it.

"All these doors just opened," she said.

But the difficulties didn't stop. In 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer; but they kept moving forward.”

Horses are totally my therapy. I was with 2 horses by 7:30 am and fed them, cleaned their stalls and made sure they were set for the day. I got to pet the kitty who is recovering from a bad bite and infection too. :) Poor thing woke up when I was moving hay.

Then I went to another barn where I cleaned my friend's horses' stall and went out to play with him a bit. He is a former race horse who is a doll and he even led the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Parade yesterday with our mayor riding him. He just wanted some scratches and hay. :) I am about to go back to ride him in a bit.

I love horses and will work with them until I die. I've already been with them for 45 years and through all kinds of weather and illnesses and life stages, I have continued to be involved with them. I have just always loved horses!

i wish I had a farm in the country where I could give a horse in need a forever home. I help as I can financially with horse charities such as Remember Me Rescue and the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, et al.

This is one of the things I really look forward to in the millennium - being "friends" with all sorts of animals & birds, a'la lion & lamb lying down together, child playing with/near vipers etc. :Laugh:D:Tongue

If you want to watch a hog and sheep play together, this is really cute. It is my friend's farm and Bruce is a rescued farm hog and the sheep were gotten as pets. The black one with the little bit of white on his head is Cadberry, the son of the tan sheep Banana Split. The other black one is the step dad, Coconut. They are all so sweet. I played with them today and man, those sheep LOVE to be scratched on their necks right now (they have heavy wool at this point).
