Rare debate between 2 heavy-weights on God's existence

Although interesting, this debate is essentially nonsense. Even the Bible does not feel it necessary to 'prove' God exists. He does. It is not His reality that is ever really in question, but His character. As Paul says in Romans 1, however, the creation itself shows enough about God so that no man has an excuse. It takes purposeful blindness to ignore the evidence and reality of God.

 

Nonsense? So you don't think it's important to try to save people who don't believe in God (atheists)? Not all of them are so ridged that they wouldn't accept arguments for God, in fact, I'm sure their are some atheists who might benefit greatly from that debate.

You say that in light of your experience and knowledge, but you have to remember that not everyone has that experience and knowledge.

I don't think this debate is going to do much for those who already believe in God, but what it could do is shed some light to those who don't. Which I think *is* important.

 

What is so intersting is that the atheist in this debate is a former pastor. Here is a short bio:

Wow! How can a person go from pastor to atheist?

 

I agree completely. God is not there to be proven. He's there to have a relationship with. The need to "prove" the existence of God, imo, shows and insecurity in one's faith.
