Reason: Dissent is still patriotic.

When Bush & Co. where at the helm, it seemed the press was championing dissent as not only the best forum of patriotism but perhaps the preferred method as well. Now that Obama & Co. are in charge suddenly dissent is "negativity." Time for a reasonable perspective:

And many of us are hoping that all those in power fail, because those in power have a grating habit of being annoyingly self-righteous, hopelessly corrupt, resolutely incompetent and completely apathetic about the freedoms that they have sworn to protect.

Dissent is, and always has been, a hallmark of a free people. The only places with "no dissent" tend to be dictatorships. I want a viable, multi-party system. Beats anything else men have devised for governance.

I agree. These are the same people who called those against the previous administration traitors. We weren't traitors then and they aren't traitors now. It does help to have just a little bit of substance in your dissent however.

I'm not saying anyone was called a traitor.

I do remeber anytime someone criticized Bush, that they got swift & hard retailiation by his Yes Men. Congressman Tom Tancredo (a fellow Republican) criticized Bush over inviting Ozzy Osbourne to the White House for dinner. Afterwards, he was advised that he is no longer welcome to the White House. I didn't like Bush as president & I didn't agree with everything he did. That doesn't make me unpatriotic or a traitor.

I've noticed a similar trend with Obama. Poeple think just because you oppose what he says that you are a racist. People think you are bad person just beacuse you want his socialist policies to fail. I want Obama to succeed in running our nation as a conservative; I want him to fail as a liberal. Since he has been president, there hasn't been anything he has done that I agree with. My saying that doesn't make me a traitor or a racist.
