Kabbalist Blesses Jones: Now´s the Time to Find Holy Lost Ark
14:03 May 20, '05 / 11 Iyar 5765

An unnamed Kabbalist has granted blessing to famed archeologist Dr. Vendyl Jones to uncover the Holy Ark of the Covenant. Jones plans to excavate the Lost Ark by the Tisha B’Av Fast this summer.

The famed archaeologist, the inspiration for the “Indiana Jones” movie series, has spent most of his life searching for the Ark of the Covenant. The ark was the resting place of the Ten Commandments, given to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai, and was hidden just before the destruction of the First Temple.

From the article:
Throughout the many years of his quest, Jones has been in close contact and under the tutelage of numerous Rabbis and Kabbalists. Extremely knowledgeable in Torah, Talmud and Kabbalah sources dealing with Holy Temple issues, Jones has now received permission from both known and secret Kabbalists to finally uncover the lost ark.
"Unnamed" and "secret" Kabbalists? That's a big red flag right there. If he's going by the Kabbalah and Kabbalists, I am concerned for him.

The Kabbalah is not really based on the Bible, but on commentaries in the Zohar that believe the Bible has hidden meaning and can only be decoded by the select few. The Kabbalah promotes belief in reincarnation, that God is is revealed by 10 emanations on the "tree of life," that God is Light that descends downward into the material world and we all have "sparks of light" and work our way back up via the Tree of Life (it's got a lot of Gnostic thinking in it), that Shekinah is the divine feminine consort of God, that God has male and female halves that need to be balanced, etc. etc.

I did research and wrote an article on this that was recently published. I also had some contact it with before in my pre-Christian life. The article is also on my website at
http://cana.userworld.com/cana_Kabbalah1.html

The Kabbalah is the basis for most Western systems of occultism (though the Kabbalist rabbis disavow this part of it).

Also from article on Jones
Once a Christian pastor, Jones left his post to become a leader of the growing Noahide movement. Noahides are G-d fearing non-Jews who observe the seven laws of Noah, which are obligatory upon all of humanity.
Now I'm really concerned for him!

Well....

Look at this:

Vendyl was born on May 29,1930, and grew up in Sudan, Texas. By the age of 16, Vendyl knew that his life was to be dedicated to doing G-d's work. After completing high school, young Jones attended Southwestern Theological Seminary for a short time, receiving his Baccalaureate of Divinity, and a Masters Degree in Theology from the Bible Baptist Seminary. He later did advanced studies at the Bowen Biblical Museum under Dr. & Mrs. William Bowen and Biblical Archaeologist, W.F. Albright.

He claims to know where the Ark of the Covenant is and claims he will excavate it this summer. Can't find the original article, but I'd posted it awhile back.

That's one reason I'm here -- to get practice! :D

I guess it is just me, but I find it hard to believe that we will ever really know if "THE ARK" is found. Something that has been lost for this long would have suffered severe damage at best. I find it hard to believe that we would be able to fully know if the actual ark were found, or if we were being fooled by a well known archaeologist.

If the real Ark is found, will it not contain Aaron's rod that budded?

And the golden pot of manna?

And the stone tablets containing the 10 commandments?

It would have held those things several hundred, or thousand, years ago. However, wood is not a stable substance. It breaks down over time. Thus, there would be little, if any, of the ark left-- leaving the objects inside unprotected. I suspect that you could find pieces of the contents, but they will not be there in toto. So, it will be difficult (read impossible) to ensure that the ark is the original.

This may sound stupid, but what will happen if they touch the ark? I always thought that anyone other than the Levites touched the Ark, they would die? Hmmm...maybe I better read up on it more. It's been awhile since I've read through Numbers.

I read the original article out of "The Jerusalem Press" (good paper by the way to keep up on events in Israel as well as "The Jerusalem Post" online (www.jpost.com).

At any rate, the "Kaballist" identity ought to raise a red flag--remember Madonna? It could be just an attention-getter...an effort to gain some official recognition by the orthodox Jews.

However, can you imagine if they DID find the Ark of the Covenant?? The Kaballist ranks would immediately swell and surpass all the orthodox Jew's sects in power and prestige.

Thinking this thing through theologically, I doubt if these claims will come true (though of course I could be wrong) because the Kaballists aren't even close to an orthodox understanding of the Messiah.
I personally think it will be the Orthodox Jews who will embrace the Messiah (Christ) upon His return and all the other Jews (including the false Jews of Kaballism) will reject Him.

Interesting times we live in though huh?

He is no friend of Christianity
About the same time, a Baptist peer told me: “If you did no accept the deity of Jesus and the trinity and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, you are not a Christian!”

I pondered his words shortly and replied, “I really appreciate you helping to put that into proper verbiage. For years, I have been trying to figure out how to put what you just said into appropriate words. As of this moment, right here where we stand, I want to declare that I am not a Christian! It has always bothered me how I can be affiliated with an institution that has been responsible for the murder of tens of millions of the Jewish people. As of today, I will only study what he studied, only teach what he taught, only pray directly to Whom he prayed, exalt Whom he exalted and praise Whom he praised. If I go to hell for doing that, I prefer to be in hell with Jesus to being in heaven with you”

In 1984, there was an article in Newsweek which reported that there had been Jewish Communities in Japan for centuries with no discriminations. In 1945, Japan was Christianized. Thirty-nine years later there been over eighty books were published against Jews, Judaism and the Jewish State. On May 29, 1972, a Japanese Musical group arrived in Israel to do an advertised performance. When took their musical instruments from the luggage conveyor, they opened the cases and took out machine guns and murdered 29 people and maimed dozens more. These terrorist had no connection with any terrorist group. The root and cause of their hatred was solely the New Testament! The New Testament and also the Koran both claim to be based on the Jewish Scripture and claim to be successors of the Jewish People. I have refused to republish book because it vindicates Jesus and the New Testament. I want people to turn directly to G-D and to the Torah!

Here's what was left in the ark when it was taken to Solomon's temple:

1 Kings 8:8-9
8 But the poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place before the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; they are there to this day.

9 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

I don't think they will find the Ark because that was where God dwelt before the incarnation.

There is no need for an Ark now that we have Christ.

The Vendyl Jones Research Institute indicates they are continuing to raise funds for the project. Included in the project is the drilling of the bore hole to confirm the presence of the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant. Once the funds are received the project will be scheduled. Anyone wishing to contribute to the project or to learn more about the Vendyl Jones Research Institute should call 972-660- 6222 in Texas or visit this site -http://www.vendyljones.org.il/index.htm

Why is anyone surprised that he doesn't know what he is talking about??

He belongs to that strange group that believes the 7 commands to Noah is the only religion, and he went to the mystical Kabbalists for their blessing on this project. The guy is totally off base. I would find it hard to believe anything he says regarding the Bible.

Richard,

Read your website, but I think you're looking at some of these things out of their historical context. Amos prophecied of Israel going into captivity and the associated return of the remnant to the land of Israel. That's all been fulfilled. It's in that historical setting that Amos declares "in that day I'll raise up the tabernacle of David."

James seems to indicate a spiritual fulfillment of this prophecy when he cites it in Acts 15, referring to the growth of the church of Jesus Christ specifically with the inclusion of the gentiles.

Bottom line: the ark and tabernacle/temple are the "figures of the true" (Heb. 9:24). No significance if they are found or rebuilt when we now have the heavenly realities in Christ.
