Recent "Spam" Posts

Hello All,

I would like to address the recent spam posts that have been placed on BB. We have performed three actions, which should resolve this issue from occurring in the future.

1) All new registrations will require administrator approval prior to being able to post on the forum.

2) Once the registration is approved, that user can not post a link/image before having 5 posts.

3) We are also using a "spam" addon now as well to match known IPs/emails/usernames that are known for spamming and automatically disallow membership to the board.

I do apologize for the delay in getting these actions in place, it is mostly due to the fact that I am on vacation with my (fiancée as of yesterday!) Cool in London, UK, so internet is very limited.

I can assure you that I do not take these posts likely, and DO NOT tolerate spam of any nature from being posted on the forum.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

The Baptist Board Team

5 posts is too low, in my view. I would recommend at the least 100. If nothing else, that would give the members a chance to speak with those who have a goal of disruption before they expose their agenda.

Have a great trip, and again congrats!

If you get the chance, try some of those fish and chips they sell at the stands, I've always wondered if they are as good as they look on the shows (also curious about the cannoli in New York, lol).

God bless.

Thanks and congrats.

Hopefully we will all be vigilant.

The "T" of TULIP has been proven (not that it needed to be and we didn't invite it.).

I agree that 5 posts is probably too few, but thanks for sorting this Sean.

London Fish and Chips are lovely. A good chain of shops is 'The Fish and Chip Company' but I've never had bad fish and chips in London.

I agree that 5 posts is too low. On 3 of the boards I'm on, it's 25 or 50 posts. You may want to consider that. It's easy to get to 5 in just a couple of minutes. I'd also not post the number so that if someone joins and wants to spam us, they don't know at what point they can post links and pictures and may just walk away guessing it is too many.

That would be a good idea. Kind of like trolling the trolls...
