    Eph 1:7

    7 In whom we have redemption through dia his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

If we rightly understood Redemption, the principle of it, established from the OT Scriptures, we know that the ones to be Redeemed/Ransomed, must bear a Relationship with the One who has the Right to Redeem them. Now this important principle was set forth in the Book of Ruth, as it pertaineth to her and Boaz, Lev 25:47-49 also gives light to this Principle of Redemption.

Those who were to be Redeemed, One of his own kinsmen must do it, and hence, those in our Text Eph 1:7 who have Redemption through His Blood , can only be those who were His Brethren, His near relations, and since Eph 1:7 is written to the Church, which is composed of both jew and Gentiles Believers Eph 2:11-22, how was it that Gentiles were of His Near relations or brothers ? Its by their Election in Him before the foundation Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Him being the Seed of Abraham Gal 3:16

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Now who cant see from this scripture, that Christ is the Seed of Abraham ? And because they were Elected in Him, they too are His Brethren, His near kinsmen, and so in order to Redeem them to confirm Redemption by His Blood, He was made like unto them His Brethren Heb 2:16-17

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

    Redemption through His Blood /Death ! 2

    Heb 2:16-17

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Now here is where many error in their thinking, Brethren here in Vs 17 " To be made like His Brethren" has absolutely nothing to do with ethnicity, for in Christ, race is no factor, and besides, Abraham's Physical seed israel, his children according to the flesh, they were not the Children of God, who are Christ's Brethren Rom 9:8

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

But His Brethren are a Spiritual Seed that had been Chosen in Him Eph 1:4, and His Brethren shall do the Will of their Father Matt 12:50

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

    Cp Matt 7:21

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Now it is those Brethren He was made like unto, to redeem them Heb 2:16-17 and it is to them which the Redemption of Eph 1:7 applies !
