Occasionally something pops up on the radar of Christians, pastors, and local churches that becomes an important teaching moment. The release of Rob Bell’s book, Love Wins, is an example of this.


Since this book is becoming a point of conversation for many believers (and sadly, for many outside of the church), I thought you might want some resources to help navigate through the conversation. The April 25 cover of Time magazine is titled “What if There’s No Hell?” (A popular pastor’s best-selling book has stirred fierce debate about sin, salvation, and judgment). This discussion is not going away. I send these resources to help you process this topic with other believers (and spiritual seekers) in a way that will honor Jesus and stay true to Scripture.

The two best books on Heaven and the afterlife I know of are The True Heaven by Joe Beam and Heaven by Randy Alcorn. In case anyone is interested.

I was disappointed with what Bell had to say. It feels good, but it contradicts the Bible.

The only, truly important book on Hell or Heaven is the Bible as it has been prederved by n not god but by Almighty God. God has spoken and Hell is real... end of speculation.

Yes, a Teaching Moment Opportunity

What bothers me about all the attention that "Love Wins" is getting from Christians [and we do need to speak up about it], is that for decades many Christians have allowed the world to define 'love' etc. with few Christians helping to clarify the differences.

There needs to be more teaching to help Christians see the differences when it comes to the basics of the faith.
