And having gone forward a little, he fell on his face, praying, and saying, 'My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou.' Matt 26:39 YLT
Again, a second time, having gone away, he prayed, saying, 'My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from me except I drink it, Thy will be done;'
And having left them, having gone away again, he prayed a third time, saying the same word; Matt 26:42,44 YLT
And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone's cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying, saying, 'Father, if Thou be counselling to make this cup pass from me --; but, not my will, but Thine be done.' -- And there appeared to him a messenger from heaven strengthening him; and having been in agony, he was more earnestly praying, and his sweat became, as it were, great drops of blood falling upon the ground. Luke 22:41-44 YLT
Heb 5:7,8 YLT who in the days of his flesh both prayers and supplications unto Him who was able to save him from (out of) death -- with strong crying and tears -- having offered up, and having been heard in respect to that which he feared, through (and even) being a Son, did learn by the things which he suffered -- the obedience,
and having cried with a loud voice, Jesus said, 'Father, to Thy hands I commit my spirit;' and these things having said, he breathed forth the spirit. Luke 23:46
The obedience? What obedience? What obedience did Son, through the things he suffered unto death, learn?
Is the Father absolutely necessary for the Son to be saved out of death? Was it the Spirit, committed to the hands of the Father, that gave life to the Son?
Was faith involved in the death of the Son? Phil 2:8 states, became or by becoming or having become obedient. Is that, the obedience, of Heb. 5:8? Would that not be, obedience of faith? The faith through which righteousness comes?
Correct me if I am wrong but is not that, Righteous Faith? This is also relative to the thread I made about the verse from Habakkuk.
The three verses in the NT are not quotes but prophecy fulfilled.
