I think the implied issue of this threat is that in banning a person from communion, that disqualifies the person from discerning actions to enhance religious liberty.

If an atheist, claiming to be Christian, acts to prevent the exercise of religious liberty (disavowing and opposing abortion) what action should be taken according to scripture. After going through a multi-step processes to correct the errant behavior, the last action is to treat the person as a non-believer.

It seems to me the Democrat Party is waging war on Christianity, and any believer that votes for one of them is voting against their own interest.

Catholics privately supporting let alone openly supporting abortion are excommunicated, it doesn’t require an official declaration from a Bishop or the Vatican.

The Eucharist is Jesus Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, people must receive Him worthily in a state Grace.

People supporting the murder of innocent babies is a grievous sin, it is mortal sin, they are walking dead outside Grace.
