Republican or Democrat

I am first a Christian, second a Botwinick, and third an American. If I had been alive during WW2, I probably would have been a Democrat. I tend to vote for Republicans today, although this is not always true. I would probably classify myself as a neo con above a political party.

I used to be a Democrat, until my party moved so very far to the left. For many years I've voted Republican. If there were a moderate party, that could be mine.

I am a Believer in Jesus Christ - a Christian. I vote pro-life. I will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate, not matter what office they're running for.

 

It depends how you define "Christian" - some seem to include being a Republican in the definition.

Most Americans are self-indentified as Christian, more in the South and MidWest, less on the coasts and big cities - plus the Northeast has a lot of Jews.

I have no allegiance for either party . . . I have an allegiance to Jesus Christ.

 

Neither. Consider myself to be independent. However, I changed my registration to Democratic to vote in the closed primary system we have here.

My views are:
* Socially liberal
* Fiscally conservative
* More libertarian in personal decision issues

So basically, there is no party I know of that truly matches my views.

Some Christians do indeed take their republicanism as part of their salvation.
Also many Christians are single-issue voters and most single-issue voters are grossly uninformed voters. The abortion card is the right's biggest weapon to gain votes.
It really baffles me how a Christian can get behind big business, war, and blatant disregard for the poor and the old.

 

i am a registered democrat, but havent voted for one in the past 16 or 17 years. i have fun voiting in the primaries -- i always vote for the underdog on the ticket.

I'm a Christian, an American, and a voter. I am an ex-Republican of the Ronald Reagan variety. My voting priorities have changed a lot in a decade. I have recently decided to prioritize issues and vote for the candidate that comes closest to what I believe about the top three or four most critical and important ones. In the upcoming mid-terms, that is looking more like it will be 70% Democrat, and 30% Libertarian.

 

Standard refrain from Christians trying to excuse their support of candidates who support the murder of the innocent and same sex marriage as well as other issues that are anti Christian or anti religion.
