Republicans: Obama must take action in syria so we can criticize action he took in sy

The quotes from these Republicans say it all. They really have no interest in the well being of the country.

A growing chorus of Republican lawmakers are demanding that President Obama take some action in Syria so that they can attack whatever action he took in Syria.

Appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) laid out the situation in stark terms: “The time for President Obama to do something in Syria that we can eviscerate him for is long overdue.”

Arguing that there are a variety of options available to Mr. Obama for dealing with Syria, Sen. Graham said, “The President needs to choose one of those options so that we can immediately identify it as a catastrophic choice and demand that he be impeached.”

Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) used an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” to express impatience with Mr. Obama’s “steadfast refusal to give us something new to rake him over the coals for.”

“The American people have grown weary of my nonstop criticism of the President’s handling of Libya,” he said. “They are ready to hear me incessantly berate him for his handling of a different country.”

They just are not listening.
I get the president made a red line.
He had NO business doing so.
We need to with draw our folks from and and all mideast places that value terrorists over their relationship with us and also with draw any and all aide to such places.

Bring our troops home and put them on our borders.
Let Libya and the rest figure out who they really want to be friends with.

They did not actually say those things.

I heard enough yesterday listening to the news. The implication is now he said it he HAS to act on it.

The problem is he will do so with or with out congressional approval.

I don't think we should do anything. And I do not believe Obama has actually committed to anything he is not currently doing. But his speaking on this issue at all looks weak. He does not know what he is doing.

On these we are agreed.

Many Republicans have been calling for the U.S. to take action in Syria for at least 18 months. It's nothing new and has nothing to do with the ability to criticize Obama. Obama doesn't need help in that area. LOL.

CTB - somewhere I missed the "satire" tag. Did you forget to put it in there?

Glad to see that someone pays some attention. I was surprised no one had picked it up until now. After all the word "reshuffled" is in the subtitle.

Read some of the fellows other short articles. They are, IMHO, a hoot.

The Borowitz Report is a humor column by a Democrat. I used to read it years ago. Sometimes it is very funny because it sometimes reflects the viewpoints of moderate Democrats. Borowitz is fairly funny in this column because he singles out the two Republicans who love to be on tv--McCain and Graham. I still listen to both of them but I take them with a grain of salt. One thing about Borowitz is that he is not as bitter as some Democrats and he is just attempting to be funny about the GOP. Borowitz also has a lot of humor on non-political subjects.

(I am surprised that people would say that McCain has no interest in the well-being of the country.)

Serious question: why do we tend to cheer on rebels of ANY type?

Could it be that in Syria, it is a war between one faction that hates us vs another faction that hates us?

That is exactly what it is and it is a stupid idea to support either.
