LETS GO TO....... Revelation 1:4 & 5

V.4A “John to the seven churches which are in Asia:”
-A MYSTERY....WE WILL BE COVERING....FOR A WHILE-
(Through the first three chapters of Revelation

Questions like.......
Why Jesus chose these particular 7 Churches?
And the deeper meaning....their letters hold?

We will start digging deeper into it..when we get to Verse 11.

-JOHN’S GREETING-
Even though this is....a very common greeting:
Found all over the New Testament:

We still shouldn’t just.....slide over it!

V.4B “Grace [be] unto you,”
-GOD’S DESIRE....FOR ALL OF HIS CHURCHES-
(That we would grow in Grace
------------------------
Not the “unmerited favor”...that saved us:
But the other kind of Grace:
-----------
That supernatural strength and ability:
--------------------------------------------------
E.G. The Grace to endure trials; etc.

V.4C “and peace,”
-AN UNDERESTIMATED PART....OF THE FAITH-
(The peace...that the Lord can give us
That peace that passes all understanding:

A place where the Lord wants us to be.
--------------------------------------------------
-A SUPERNATURAL.....FRAME OF MIND-
God’s peace can give us contentment:
In any situation:
------------------------
Because we know that the Lord’s in control!

V.4D “from him”
-THE ONE.....WHO IS GIVES US THIS “GRACE” AND “PEACE”-
(The Godhead
--------------------------------------------------
And as we are going to see:
All three persons of the Godhead:
Are equally capable....of giving us grace & peace.

V.4E “which is, and which was, and which is to come;”
-GOD....THE FATHER....GIVES US GRACE AND PEACE-
(The great “I AM”

The Self-existent one:

This is the way:
The LORD likes....to refer to Himself as!

V.4F “and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;”
-GOD....THE HOLY SPIRIT....GIVES US GRACE AND PEACE-
(The third person of the Trinity

One of the ways....the Holy Spirit is referred to:
In the book of Revelation:
As seven Spirits: (The number of perfection
------------------------
Note: It is significant that these seven Spirits:
Are found in front of God’s throne:
(With the other two persons of the Godhead.)
