I have seen previews for a television movie or series (not sure which) called Revelations which will air on NBC April 13th. What I saw consisted of nuns, the anti-christ, the rapture, etc. It looked extremely interesting.

Has anyone heard or seen anything about this? Like, is it consistent with the Bible? Is it a movie or a series? Will you watch it?

I saw some previews and read a tidbit on it in TV Guide, I think. It looks cheesy to me.

They can't even get the name of the Biblical book right, if that's what they were going for. And if that's the case, I doubt they have much else right, either.

Since this mini-series is coming up on April 13, I thought I would post this info on it. It's like I thought -- since they didn't even get the name of the Biblical book right, they missed on the rest as well. It looks like it's going to be a warped view of end-time stuff, but it might be good to watch so we can discuss it with non-Christian friends who see it, and use the show as a springboard, not to discuss endtimes with them, but more to to discuss Christ.

Thanks for posting this. I figured as much when I saw the baby on the previews. I didn't hear what was being said though, so I couldn't be sure if they were portraying the baby as Jesus returned.

    The IMDB is your friend.
I did pick up the following there (it's internet rumour take it, cum grano salis).
-It's 6 episodes and open ended allowing NBC to do a second season if it get's decent ratings.
-The first episode is very surreal, relying primarily -- at least, for the first 20 minutes -- on visual cues to thrust the viewer into the narrative. It's extremely plot-driven, with character information seeping into the episode only when it serves the story. Pullman's character, Dr. Massey, has a daughter that's been slaughtered by a Satanist, Michael Massee... but we only find this out when another young girl's heart is failing.

I am not going to watch it because more than likely it will make a big joke out of the Bible and what I believe.

Anybody remember the piece of garbage that NBC showed a few years ago about the flood? Just remember that one and I think you'll have a decent idea about what kind of nonsense this one will be.

Does anybody know what the acronym NBC stands for? NBC = No Biblical Content :D

</font>[/QUOTE]I remember that one. Sodom and Gemorrah was destroyed before the flood and Lot became a pirate and tried to kick Noah off of the ark. What a pile of dung.

So, I probably will not watch it at all. I have better things to do with my time.

I'm glad I don't watch much network TV. I can tell I haven't missed much.

I'll probably watch it. The first episode sounds interesting AND they use the correct book name when refering to Revelation.

Did anybody watch this? I was unable to (although I really wasn't motivated to either).

    Just curious.

I watched it. I couldn't help it - was too curious. It was actually pretty good. It's too early in the series to tell much about it, but they did quote scripture throughout the show. I'm going to watch it next week.

I watched the first part of it last night. Is it biblical you asked?
NO! Right from the get go they talked about how the world came about by the "Big Bang Theory"! Right there it is wrong. Then they showed how man evolved from apes. Wrong again.
It was mildly amusing but biblical it was not.

I would suggest that if you are interested in the show and you know your biblical facts then you would be ok to watch it. I found it like a fictional tale.

I feel sorry for the people (Millions I am sure ) that did watch it and do not know the truth of the Gospel. They will be mislead that they can take it as truth.

I think you misunderstood the point. Yes, they were discussing evolution. They were setting something up. The main character is not a believer but soon will be. They were not saying that it was right.

Kimbery, although I appreciate your opinion, I am not here to debate about this program. That is how I saw it and took it.

I understand the main character will soon be a believer, and that they were setting the stages, but we also have to remember that it is Hollywood putting this together. Nothing biblical can come out of that! :D

Like I said, I found it amusing, but knowing the truth I can say that. If I were "blind" to the truth as all saved people have been at one time, I can see how this could lead me to believe certain things.

    Thanks for your opinion.
