    I know that we will get rewards in Heaven but my question is this. Not that I don't want to earn them or live for the Lord but if we are going to be in Heaven for eternity why would we care if we didn't get certain rewards?

    The rewards we are going to get are crowns. These crowns are to be laid at the feet of our Savior.

    I don't want to be the only one there without a gift. [IMG]

    The crowns I get are "stephanos", laurel wreath crowns that show the victor of a race.

    The crown that Jesus has is the "diadem", the royal crown as Sovereign of the universe.

    Not worried about mine. I want to crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon the throne . . .

    So basically the crowns that we get are for us to lay at Jesus feet for worship??

    Thank you, I have often wondered about why it would be so bad not to have rewards when we are in Heaven anyway but now I see why. I want to have as many crowns as I can get to lay at the feet of my precious Saviour.

    I think heaven is an excellent reward in itself. One thing God has to be given from each of us is our choice of Him over the world.

    Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

    That's true Ben and Hank;

    Heaven is a great gift and being with God is a great reward; but that doesn't negate the fact that we should earn crowns to throw at His feet in worship.

    If it were not important, God would not have put it in the Bible. He listed several crowns that we could win and gave us instructions on how to win them.

    "Know ye not that they who run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
    And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we , an incorruptible."
    I Corinthians 9:24,25.

    Blessings,
