Ten years ago today, Rich Mullins was killed in a traffic accident in Illinois while on his way to a concert. It's hard to believe it's been that long ago. His songs still speak to me:

I miss him and his insightful writing. Thank goodness he left us so much!

He was truly a great song writer. "Sing Your Praise to the Lord," is a modern worship masterpiece.

I was on vacation in Key West with my girlfriend (yes, we stayed in different rooms) and my sister and brother in law.

My brother and law and I were in their room, waiting for the girls to get ready to go that morning and my brother in law said, "when you were in Christian music, did you ever know a guy named Rich Mullins"?

I told him that I knew Rich and that we'd worked together several times and asked what made him ask.

He pointed to a USA today article about Mullins' accident.

I met Mullins and worked with him many times. He was a very strange guy and I always thought his theology was a little on the "emergent" and liberal side ("squishy", as Todd Friel would say), but he did have some very good songs.
