Rick & Oprah

He has the opportunity but I won't hold my breath for any clear presentation of the Gospel. Maybe a "Jesus loves you this much" with his arms spread wide.

Finally Rick Warren is where he needs to be.

Out from behind the pulpit and on a pyschology talk show. I think he has found his niche.

scroll down to see short video clip.

I am often worried by any pastor that sits down with Oprah. Her show was a bunch of New Age nonsense and PDL touches on some of that new age stuff. Help him Lord. Oprah might eat him alive and have him announcing her as queen of the world.

I do wonder why anyone associated with God's truth would go onto her show and become associated with all the WRONG stuff she has misled so many with?

I would hope a SBC Pastor would, if given a world stage like Oprah's show, be prepared to tell the truths of scripture that are honest with people who are headed for hell. And many who watch her programs I'm sure fit that description. Instead he seems to be giving self esteem advice like his mentor Robert Schuller would do.

Now I haven't seen the whole program so he may have done good, but again I won't hold my breath on this. If I have time today I will check Oprah's website.

That's EXACTLY what he is doing. It sickens me again that any pastor would get on her show and play these little games. She's not gonna allow him the platform to say or promote anything that she doesn't believe.

So as long as he's giving Joel Osteen style feel-good advice, she'll have him on there again and again and again.

There is NOW WAY I would agree to do a show like that without being given the opportunity to share the Gospel.

But he will from here on out be associated with Oprah and her false teachings by many who look at him.

I see...he has been found guilty before he has even been on the show.

Yeah, this is not slandering and just unbiased champion stuff reporting by SS

The Bible is pretty clear, if you've got a gripe with another Christian, you have the obligation to go that brother or sister, confront them, and seek restoration. Otherwise it is sin to gossip about them.

Paul was vocal about the false teachers he saw in his day. The letters he wrote were not private. Additionally, throughout church history, there have been great public disagreements over teachings. The letters written back and forth were public. Paul also wrote about his public disputes with other Christians, even confronting Peter, and how some so-called brothers had wronged him. Was Paul guilty of Gossip? If so, what does that mean for us and our view of those passages of the Bible?

There is nothing sinful in exposing false teaching. The attitude and reasons may be sinful.

You assume that the right move is to always personally confront. I assert that the onus is on you to prove that applies in the arena of false teachers (as opposed to direct sin) and to prove that it occurred in each instance of Paul's corrective letters.

I see no proof of personal confrontation regarding Galatians. Nor do I see anything other than a warning in 2 John written to the woman and the church who met with her regarding false teachers.

Concerning sin, in 1 Cor 5, Paul throws someone out of the church based solely on what he had heard from trusted voices and without personal confrontation.

The interview hasn't been aired yet. This thread is nothing more than trolling and gossip.

Warren has been confronted by more people than Carter has liver pills. He doesn't care.

You know this...how?

I'm not talking about websites and blogs created with the sole intent of tearing him down either.

Paul had people with the sole intent of tearing him down, as an apostle, etc, and he did confront them. But forget that, what about emails that he ignores. I know, I know, the great man has too many emails to answer. That is always the answer. The only way you get a response from someone like him is if you scratch his back and he scratches yours. So let me ask you, should I fly out to whereever he is and personally confront him?

If you feel that way then why join the thread.

I see the comments on the upcoming interview to be speculation at worst and at best educated guesses based on past performances.

I'm going to defend a brother in Christ.

So its OK to start a thread speculating on what you might say? There's a word for that. Gossip. There's 3 more. Bearing false witness.

He has personally ignored your emails? You know he ignores every email as a fact?
