I have always criticized Warren for his careless handling of the gospel and now he has solidified it for me. He now is saying it was just a misunderstanding 1400 years ago that divides Muslim's and Christians. He is claiming we worship the same God. Warren has gone too far this time. He is truly riding the fence to appease everyone. He claims we have an inerrant Bible and then states we serve the same God a Islam (it can't be both). I use to think he was just trying to be Christ-like, but now I think he truly has a hidden agenda. Maybe he's really in with all this Emergent Spirituality that is wanting all religions to merge. We need to pray that Rick will make a stand for truth and not be so sold out on unity at any cost.

Better make sure popcorn doesn't offend Muslim's. lol

What is real funny is that I just sat down with a bowl of popcorn just as I opened and read your reply. Do you have a hidden camera in my house?

He certainly is not avoiding them or afraid of them, I have my doubts as to what he will accomplish. We will see.

Several years ago a young man told me about the high school where he went and how some Christians from a particular church treated students on campus as though they were afraid of them and that they would get some kind of disease.

    OK.

I have pretty much been "on the fence" regarding Rick Warren for quite a while. Rather than taking a condemnatory attitude at the 1st chance...as many have done regarding Rick Warren...I have chose to take the high road, and the scriptural road, and have bent over backwards to give him every benefit of the dought.

I can no longer do that.

This information regarding Rick Warren has, unfortunetly, made it impossible for me to continue on giving him the benefit of the dought.

    There is now no dought.

Rick Warren, in my opinion, is a full blown heretic

The more I read about him, the more I wonder about him....I hate to say this, but everything he does is for some media splash. He reminds me of the kids at the playground who are always saying " Hey look at me, look at me!"

I do not see in that article where Rick Warren says that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. Can someone point that out to me? I see it says:

This is speaking of two men who are NOT Warren. It doesn't say that Warren agrees with this document. It doesn't say that Christians and Muslims both believe in the same "one God" that I can see. I'd really need more information to make a conclusion. I've just seen too many men and ministries torn down from false accusations to follow what is hearsay. There is not even a copy of the document which I find very interesting.

Did Warren say that, or that what someone said Warren believes? Having said that, I disagree with Warren's attempt at ecumensim here and think he is quite ignorant of the muslims sincerity.

I don't know but according to the article it appears Warren is in support of this. Honestly I would like to see a better source for this.

Apparently because one of the co authors is a Saddleback pastor.

I would be surprised that one of his pastors held this view and he was not aware of it.

Right. It's fishy to me that we have only "one God" as the entirety of the quote from the document. Why is that? I'd really like to have a link to the whole document and that Warren agrees with what the document states.

Because this issue is from a secular source I believe there may be some error do to a lack of understanding. If there is I am sure Warren will straighten it out.

No, I read it but I've also read other news sources report things wrongly before too. I'd have to see the document myself to be able to rightly judge it. It could be totally true but I need to judge it for myself.

Again, without the document, I'll have to wait to see the evidence. I think it should be out in a few days.

Well, I like Pastor Warren, I think he continues to be a faithful minister who preaches the Gospel. (So yes, clearly I am a mindless sycophant blinded by his cultic leadership...where is the cool-aid!)

He actually tweeted something last night about this, and though a bit cryptic, now it makes sense.

I am not going to say anything heads or tails because I've got other things to do than run this down...but I would urge us all to be sensible and not jump to conclusion about erroneous reporting. Maybe I'll find time to look it up tomorrow.
