Methinks that this is typical of what the "ZERO" would like for the armed services to be - totally non-thinking. Then with a few top leaders in his pocket, -------!!
Over the top?? Maybe, but I am anything but optimistic concerning the totally irrational POTUS we have today!

Obama cannot be legitimately blamed. I do not think that firearm ignorance is due so much to politics as it is to the urbanisation of society. Kids these days are more familiar with the video game gun than they are with the real thing. It is simply a matter of what they have learned.

Again, I think his willingness to step up and join are worthy of kudos.

The fact that he asked "how did this happen" (how did he run out of ammo) leads me to agree with Rolf.

I'm thinking he didn't input the proper sequence for the "unlimited ammo" mode....

<facetiousness tag, for those that don't get it>

Nothing new here. Same type of things happened to people on the firing range way back when I was in boot camp. 35 years ago.

That's why the military has firearms training.

There is not enough information in this video to draw many conclusions.

1. Did the instructor follow-up with remedial instruction? Maybe the private was in sick bay on the load and lock block of instruction.

2. Did the instructor turn in an after action report to the CO?

3. Maybe the private was a reclassified 4F(mentally unfit for military service) or a pencil whipped enlistee enlisted by a quota crazy recruiter.

4. Qualification at the rifle range is a prerequisite for an enlistee to finish basic training--probably all services.

Just not enough info.
