Six GOP senators broke with their leadership and voted with 48 Democratic members to proceed to debate the bill: Lisa Murkowski, of Alaska; Rob Portman, of Ohio; Ben Sasse, of Nebraska; Bill Cassidy, of Louisiana; Mitt Romney, of Utah; and Susan Collins, of Maine.

The bill would authorize yet another witch hunt to attack Mr. Trump

The Ben Sasse who was in the hunt for the presidency?

The "honorable" one who is pro-life.

Maybe he is still hunting.

RINO, wry not?

So you are essentially saying that Trump is responsible for 1/6.

What happens if the RINOs become the majority? Then the "loyalists" become RINOs?

It would have opened up a witch hunt, but was defeated.

BREAKING: Senate DEFEATS Jan 6th Commission Bill...

The Senate has just defeated the Democrat Jan 6th Commission bill to investigate the riot at the Capitol earlier this year as if it was 9/11 or something:

#BREAKING: Senate fails to get enough votes 54-35, to open debate on bill to create an outside commission to probe Jan. 6 attack. This is their first successful legislative filibuster this Congress.

What candles?

More abortions thanks to the Democrats.

You going to deny that Baptist Believer, or is it just a side issue you can easily dismiss?

Goody! Goody! No more Trump.

More abortions but more equality for the living dead.

Nah, everyone becomes a Communist, or rather is then under the jackboot of Communism. Not to worry, we're almost there now. Get ready to light those candles. :Wink
:Laugh you know....the older I get the more I anticipate leaving this world behind. :Cautious Just not for awhile, God willing (and to the dismay of a few members) :Biggrin.

Your post reveals a total disregard for truth
If Trump and the Republicans had nothing to do with it, why are they worried about a BIPARTISAN panel, along with nonpartisan investigators reviewing what happened?

That seems quite fishy. Of course, Trump set the date for the rally for 1/6/2021 and inviting his supporters to come. He and other speakers ruled up the crowd and set them toward the Capitol. It seems quite certain that those persons who attacked the Capitol wouldn’t have been there of Trump hadn’t called and commissioned them to go (falsely claiming he was going to go with them). Another sign the job was doing his bidding was that he refused to act for hours. When he finally did, all he had to do was speak to the crowd through a prerecorded message and they obeyed him — a clear sign that they believed they were there under his leadership. Moreover, Trump told them he “loved them.” That’s a very strange thing to say to a mob that smashed doors and Windows, ransacked offices, and seriously injured many police officers.

if he wasn’t in charge of it, then he should want a full accounting to clear his name and the names of Republican leaders. Moreover, Republican leaders claimed Trump was responsible, including Mitch McConnell.

Why does Mitch McConnell not want there to be a review? Because he knows it will be bad for Republicans since many are guilty.

Give me a break, we have "investigations" for years trying to make "Russian collusion" a myth to disparage Mr. Trump.
The Left Liberals have no credibility. Zip
Refresh my memory, did the Senate commission an investigation as to the origin of the Covid 19 virus?

We know who the RINOs are, and in some of their states, it would be possible to do better.

Had Trump called for us to rise up millions of Americans would have done so. I never got that call, nor any of my friends who support Trump. That crap on the 6th was created to make him look bad. Propaganda.

What, person, singular, sets their agenda? Who tells them where and when to be someplace?

Yes, but I do think about the next generations. However, things have been difficult, even much more difficult in earlier times, and in some places they are quite difficult now.

I once thought I would die young, but finally realized "only the good die young." So I may be looking at 120, with dismay all around. :Wink

From the riddle: "What did communists use to light their homes before candles?" But you're right. We may not be able to afford even those by then. Just go to bed early… and hungry. :Wink

(Of whom the world was not worthy)
they wandered in deserts,
and in mountains,
and in dens and caves of the earth.

How many of the House Republicans (35) who voted for the commission are in "Red" districts? Certainly several come from "Red" states.

From an online source:
My cat had kittens, and they were all communists!
After a week all those kittens were capitalists!
Why?
They opened their eyes...
