If Trump and the Republicans had nothing to do with it, why are they worried about a BIPARTISAN panel, along with nonpartisan investigators reviewing what happened?
That seems quite fishy. Of course, Trump set the date for the rally for 1/6/2021 and inviting his supporters to come. He and other speakers ruled up the crowd and set them toward the Capitol. It seems quite certain that those persons who attacked the Capitol wouldn’t have been there of Trump hadn’t called and commissioned them to go (falsely claiming he was going to go with them). Another sign the job was doing his bidding was that he refused to act for hours. When he finally did, all he had to do was speak to the crowd through a prerecorded message and they obeyed him — a clear sign that they believed they were there under his leadership. Moreover, Trump told them he “loved them.” That’s a very strange thing to say to a mob that smashed doors and Windows, ransacked offices, and seriously injured many police officers.
if he wasn’t in charge of it, then he should want a full accounting to clear his name and the names of Republican leaders. Moreover, Republican leaders claimed Trump was responsible, including Mitch McConnell.
Why does Mitch McConnell not want there to be a review? Because he knows it will be bad for Republicans since many are guilty.
