One of the young people that I work with at my office is an amazing witness for Christ. She is the child of a minister, and she spends her free time going to places like Guatemala to witness for Christ. Her fiance, another amazing young Christian, earned his living with U.S. Postal Service.

They lived in one of those little small towns that don't even make most map, and were just 27 miles from Beaumont. A little over 23,545 population and 14 churches.

Well, you don't hear much about it, or a lot of similiar small towns in Rita's path, on the news, but it was hit hard. Some structures survived, some didn't.

The postal employee has been called back to work, but as of yesterday was still without power or water. The bank was destroyed, so he can't pull out cash to buy groceries. His family is buying food and water for him in Houston, driving 58 miles to him, and then turning around and driving 58 miles back to Houston.

My Music Minister's parents are from another small community hit by Rita. They are here with their son and his wife because they aren't allowed back into their homes yet. These are fine, Christian missionaries who raised a wonderful Christian son.

These are the homeless from these hurricanes folk, and these are the reasons I get angry when I hear blatant remarks from men who claim to be men of God saying the hurricane's homeless don't want to work, or that they are lazy, or that they are uneducated.

    Its a lie.
    Its a false witness.
    Its hard hearted.

Reporters feed on the disasters because they make news.

People feed on negative gossip because they are not of Christ.

It is hard-hearted. It is life in this world right now. But thank you for your report and God bless you all.

1 correction. The population of the city itself is just a 5,300 it is the county that had 23,545.
