For what it's worth, I was in the cardiologist's office with my 88 year old mom when he told her to get with her doctor and get a COVID vaccine. She got the first shot but her health has now started to fail. She was supposed to get the second shot Thursday, but I told the doctor that she was't doing well, and it looked to me like a second shot could be fatal. The doctor said that if she doesn't have a fever or cough, she should be able to take it. I refused to take her for the second shot.
The way things have changed is like this; previously when I would go in to see her at her apartment, she would be in her recliner, watching tv. She could get into the fridge or cupboard and cook just about anything. She would also call me about twice a day.
Lately, when I go in to see her, she is covered up in bed. She is very weak and frail, and she eats so little. I bought her some "Ensure" to help her keep her strength up, but she will take just a sip or two, put the cap back on the bottle and put it back in the fridge. When I fix food for her, she will normally have what would amount to no more than three or four teaspoons of food, cover it up and put it away.
I just find it hard to believe that a doctor would want her to go ahead with the second shot.
