    The key point:

    "The US is abusing the dollar's role as reserve currency. When a trusted alternative appears, the dollar is likely to lose its reserve currency role. Iran, however, cannot cause that transition."

    The pound, not so very long ago, was the world's reserve currency. I'm sure the British never dreamed that would change.

    Of course, the U.S. was for a very long time the world's swing producer of oil ...

    I hope the dollar stays strong - my support is in dollars. but I spend euro.

    I am a pragmatist when it comes to dollar/euro issues ;) .

    Gold, at the moment, is becoming the reserve currency of choice. Notice that when the dollar rises, gold falls, and vice-versa.
