Roe vs Wade

Almost 2 1/2 years ago Roe vs Wade was overturned.

Christians celebrated, and rightly so.

But this was a worldly victory. For some reason Christians believed that this would decrease abortions. Now, for some reason, Christians believe that reinstating Roe vs Wade would cause more abortions.

This is faulty thinking.

In the over two years since Roe vs Wade was overturned the number of abortions have not decreased. In fact, the number has increased.

The reason is we cannot solve evil by turning to the World. The problem is not legislation or flesh and blood but spiritual forces of evil and the work of evil in the human heart.

If every state with a 40% or more pro-life population completely banned abortion this would not change the number of abortions being performed.

A woman living in a state that bans abortions can drive across an imaginary line into another state, can have somebody send in pills, can illegally obtain an abortion, can take a free flight to have an abortion performed....etc.

The only way to decrease abortions is to influence the human heart.

Abortion is now a state issue. If Christians want to influence abortion laws at the state level, they must do, imo, something different.

Instead of focusing on the evil that is abortion, they should focus on the adverse health effects of women having abortion which include…

1. Death for the woman from abortion is always a possibility

2. Increase likelihood of later miscarriage, inability to conceive

3. Increase risk of certain cancers, cervical and breast cancer

4. Mental and emotional trauma for the woman

peace to you

Actually SCOTUS applying the 14th to the Unborn would end legal abortion.

It would have to be rewritten to apply the US Constitution to the unborn ("All persons born or naturalized in the United States") or clarify personhood in the latter part to include the unborn.

That is one of the biggest problems. The Democrat Party is a godless evil that is blinded to unborn (often even born infants) being a "person".

yes, you'd need an amendment for this and abortion is unfortunately too popular. I think the numbers went up because of all those abortion pills, they are easier than surgical abortions.

Still glad RvW was overturned, it was a terrible decision and an example of legislating from the bench. An ungodly decision from an ungodly court for an ungodly nation, should've never been "law of the land".

Chief Justice Roger Taney in 1857 and 7-2 Supreme Court of the United States ruled that people of African descent "are not included, and were not intended to be included, under the word 'citizens' in the Constitution, and can therefore claim none of the rights and privileges which that instrument provides for and secures to citizens of the United States". They hoped this would stop any more debate over slavery expansion into the territories and its rightful place in existing states and thereby stop a civil war.

HORRIBLE action that took a war (2 million casualties) and TWO Amendments to the US Constitution to undo. Roe v Wade was another HORRIBLE action (5-4) and finally overturned. It will take another Amendment to fully undo this action and stop the slaughter of innocents.

Many great legal minds say 14th covers the Unborn. We won't know until SCOTUS addresses it.

It should go to the SCOTUS because it is now interpreted differently from its purpose (it was to clarify the citizenship of children born of slaves).

I suspect this is true. I am praying for that day. This horrible genocide MUST be stopped.
