This thread is NOT about individual candidates - or even parties !

What rules would you like to see for Presidential debates?
    (whether party or general election)

Here are some of mine: (and in no particular)

    1) One debate should be "extra timing" Another words - lets say the debate is 90 minutes - with 2 candidates - each candidate would be allowed to speak for 35 minutes (the other 20 - would be the questions asked by the moderator/s)
A candidate would be allowed to speak as long as he wanted to on any subject - but once his 35 minutes is up - his mike is turned off!

    2) One Debate would allow candidates to ask each other questions

    3) No more than 4 candidates per debate - if more than 4 - than divide the candidates into different debates.

    4) When a debate has a time limit - say one minute - the bell buzzes - candidate gets 10 seconds grace -- then the mike is turned off

    5) For Presidential candidates - there should be one about every 10 days from Labor day to the Tuesday B4 the election and held at different days.

Why dont you like turning off the mikes,
thats only when they well over their time.
How about they only do that on one debate?
