Military people were treated like dirt in the Clinton white House. Wonder how Michelle O treats those who protect this "downright mean country"?

Probably pretty good now that for the first time in her life she is proud to be an American

I guess Michelle has found out this country ain't so "mean" after all. After all, she's living high on the backs of us taxpayers. Pretty nice gig.

I wonder how her staff expenses compare with those of Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton as First Ladies.

Now this would be an interesting bit of info. However, I would like to see the same for all 1st Ladies from, say, Bess Truman, thru today - As well as the cost for their pet projects.

The only one of these that I'm remotely acquainted with is the "BEAUTIFICATION" of the nations highways by Lady Bird, (at least IIRC, it was her) and the almost comical implementation of at least part of same.

But again, IIRC, each and every one their pet projects that naturally came from the public till.

I don't care who spends the money, it's waste at tax payers expense. Now someone post a link proving she spends less on staff then previous first ladies.

Apparently Laura Bush's staff expenses were $561,325

Seems Michelle is a little high maintenance, at our expense.
And it certainly doesn't include Michelle's European vacation with her daughters. In fact, CNS reports that

"the White House will not reveal the cost to taxpayers of the European vacation that first lady Michelle Obama and the president's two daughters, Malia and Sasha, took last month."

Despite deploying multiple aircraft, a huge staff and a motorcade of 20 vehicles including support staff on tours of London and Paris and la-di-da, apparently the White House feels there is some sort of executive privilege involved in withholding the cost of the First Family's extravagances from the citizens who foot the bill for them

I once read, when Reagan was president, that they bought their own food, if they had a dinner party(or whatever, personal guests) they paid for it themselves, the only time the tax payers paid for it was when it was a more offical, political dinner in the white house. Now how much her personal staff was I don't know.

Agreed, but it would also need to be shown in actual dollars and then adjusted for inflation.

As for Lady Bird's project, that is not staff expense, and I don't know if it was a national project or not...but if you have ever driven the highways in Texas during spring, you cannot beat the beauty of the bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes growing everywhere.
