Saudi Prince Threatens 'Military Action Without American Support' Against Iran

Quoted in a Washington Post article which translated part of the Elaph piece:

Bandar says [about the North Korean pact], "it turned out that the strategic foreign policy analysis was wrong and there was a major intelligence failure." He added that if Clinton had known the full picture, "I am absolutely confident he would not have made that decision."

The Saudi royal then contrasts this with the present situation with Iran, "where the strategic foreign policy analysis, the national intelligence information, and America’s allies in the region's intelligence all predict not only the same outcome of the North Korean nuclear deal but worse – with the billions of dollars that Iran will have access to."

Bandar says Obama is smart enough to understand this but that he is ideologically willing to accept collateral damage because he believes he is right.

The Saudis threatening to act on their own without Washington and it's propaganda and killing machines That's comical. :laugh:

They've probably already used up most of the ordinance Washington supplied them with on Yemen, gotta be about time for a 'reload".

Does this mean the military industrial complex is about to get another big juicy contract to sell more weapons to the Saudi dictatorship?

We'll read all about it in the papers soon enough I guess.

Cue John McCain and Lindsey Graham the Saudis need more weapons!

at least before Iran gets those billions. SA can not afford to have Iran flush with cash and that won't be tolerated. There could be a temporary alliance made with Israel but one of the two countries or both will act and act soon.

Russia sells billions of USD of weapons to Saudi Arabia

"Saudi Arabia will soon sign several contracts to purchase military hardware from Russia. It goes about a major deal to buy various modifications of combat helicopters, T-90C tanks, armored vehicles and anti-aircraft missile systems. The deal approximately totals $2 billion. Saudi Arabia will purchase Mi-171, Mi-35 choppers and T-90C tanks until the end of this year Pravda.Ru reports.

"Saudi Arabia 's defense budget will increase next year to $44 billion. Until recently, the nation has been purchasing military hardware from Western countries, Interfax reports. Several groups of Saudi experts visited Russia several times for consultations. Russia's defense export giant, Rosoboronexport, conducted tests of the T-90C tank in Saudi Arabia. The tank demonstrated very good operational qualities under the conditions of the desert.
