    $48 to save a drowning soul?

    What's it cost to raise someone who is DEAD to life?

    Anyway, I thought our non-calvinist, synergistic friends would love this. Here's your chance to show your great love for the perishing; but why stop at $48??-- Send in all your money and SAVE AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

    That way you'll be able to substantiate any claim that you make about those Calvinists being neglectful and unconcerned about winning souls!!!

    And, of course, you'll get a whopper of a tax break!!

    No; maybe instead it's a chance for Calvinists to participate in the "means" by which God has ordained, to elect those people. [​IMG] That way you can substantiate your claim that only in Calvinism does soul-winning make sense, or however they put it.

    Do we get a warranty with this investment? I mean, if the soul I pay for goes to Hell anyway, do I get my money back with appropriate interest?

    Sounds a bit like a quickie mart salvation. I'd rather have the $100,000 to $300,000 salvation it's got to be better. :cool: Harrods rather than Kwik Save.

    No. Its for real.

    I've heard Dr. Smith in person a few times and he really isn't a bad guy. I'm saddened, however, by this type of approach to evangelism. Simply because, as someone else has said, its too man-centered.

    My main problem with this is that it presumes the converting power of the Holy Spirit can be bought with money. Remember Peter's words: "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!"

    We cannot predict the moving of the Holy Spirit; like the wind He blows where He will. I'm all for the financial support of evangelists and missionaries-- but I got a problem with this.

    The Baptist Union GB have just hosted The Baptist World Congress in England. We gave it a miss. I think any organisation is suspect, if not now, soon. I think they are out of place involving individual Churches in schemes divised by themselves. David Coffey (BUGB) eulogising Pope John Paul after he died left a very bad taste in my mouth.

    Baptist World Alliance (BWA)
    It exists for fellowship and seeks to unite all Baptists worldwide.     Why did you break with them as their aim is to unite all baptists? Looks like they got something wrong somewhere. :cool: Why do we need uniting? :cool:

    Successful without begging. :cool: Double points cause they were Catholics. I think they should give the numbers of Baptists going over to Rome though.

    If I recall right the SBC proclaimed that it took 84 people in the pew for every person saved each year. So the number of 48 dollars doesn't seem to compute very well.

    Seems as though there is to much money in the cooperative program funds if it only takes 48 dollars for each eprson saved.
