Does anybody know how to save clips from websites which aren't specifically video websites? I once saved a video clip from the BBC website but a few days later the video had been replaced by a more recent one.

It's difficult to save videos from the web since most are streaming. You should be able to find non-streaming videos and download them easily by viewing the source code of the page the video is on. Locate the URL of the video, copy and paste it in your browser, then click File > Save as....

If it's streaming, it will be a little more difficult, since the videos URL in the HTML isn't actually the full video. The most difficult way of downloading the video would be to actually capture it as it's playing and record it manually. There are a few programs and plugins out there that do this, but I've never used them.

If the site is small and you can easily get in touch with the owner/webmaster, a simple email asking for the video might work out best :).
