Today I printed off all the lessons I have taught and gave them a title page, and put them in a binder in the order in which I taught them. This will help if the Lord ever wants me to teach something similar, I can look back at an older lesson for ideas and thoughts. It also may be a help to someone else. Have any of you guys done this?

Nah. I just keep everything I've preached on my computer by date preached. I used to file the hard copy, but it took up too much space. I do back them up - often.

    Similar discussion HERE.

    My process:

I've been doing my stuff via computer since about 1988...so I have several thousand files worth.

At the top of my sermons & Bible studies, I put the scripture(s), and key words that might identify the sermon, and date(s) used. I title the sermon on my computer with the title and original date.

Then, by using the "search" feature in Windows, I can search my Bible studies folder for topics, scriptures, dates, or even keywords in illustrations.

Oh, and I back up religiously. Otherwise, you have a preacher cussing, and that usually ain't good...

    Merry Christmas,

    Rbell

    Thank God for gigabytes!!!

I write my sermons in Word, (This year, I started writing them in Powerpoint) so at the end of each year, I create a new folder in My Documents with that yrs date, and then arrange them by the date they were modified... it puts them in chronological order that way.

    Oh, I back up also...

Several months ago I was attending the Olford Institute for Biblical Preaching --- founded by the late, great theologian/pulpiteer --- Dr. Stephen Olford

    Check out the web page

    www.olford.org

anyway---Dr. Olford's son, David --- allowed the preaching class I was attending a visit to Dr. Olford's office/library

We were in there looking at all of those books

Dr. David Olford opens up several cabinet doors that were "jammed packed" with Dr. Stephen Olford's sermon notes copied on 3 ring binders--- loose leafed

    He made the comment

"One day I hope to have all of these sermons published!!!"

And it just slipped out of my mouth when he said that

    I said

    "HURRY!!!"
