There is a petition on Facebook to kick the police resources officer out of the school in a city near a relative of mine. How does this make any since at all?

For one, should the kids be less safe now. Secondly, removing helpful and friendly officers from the lives of minority students can only make the mistrust of the students worse, not better.
Sign Letter to Edmonds School Board and Superintendents: End Relationship with Local Police Departments Now

Complete insanity has now infected many people. The cry has also come up to get rid of the regular police forces in places. These people have truly gone off the deep end!

I know a little bit about that particular school, that place is pretty safe and only needs cops for drug busts. I think the petition is just about a bunch of whites virtual signalling.

People are shifting all the focus on the arrest, but now you can make bail for virtually any crime in NYC, cash free. Then there's all the nuts that want to defund and disband police forces, that would just make an Escape from New York a reality. They should just try to make the whole city a no-go zone, that's what they want.

, but now you can make bail for virtually any crime in NYC, cash free. ...

That provision was put in at the bottom of the budget last year. So if you voted the bill down because of the free bail - then you could have been accused of voting against the budget. But now - all three are in Dem hands. The House, the Senate and the Gov. Up till last last year- there were about 4 Dems who associated as the Independent Dem Caucus - from Upstate - and often voted with the R's. - Should note, most R's are from Upstate and and Downstate is mainly D's. Since NY City has close to 50% of the State population - and with a few D's upstate - they have the majority. Up until 1970 or so - each county had one Senator - which at the time - gave the R's a majority in the Senate.

This is the reason that New Yorkers are fighting for 3 autonomous regions in NY. In essence each region would have a Deputy Governor - and for the most part - would be self governing.

I think I could make a reasonable case that NYC may well be the city that is prophecied in the Revelation to be destroyed. That the merchants of the Earth mourn over.
