Scripture reveals who really are “the righteous into eternal life”!

Let's look at righteousness. Perhaps you think you are righteous because of
what Jesus did for you (giving you His righteousness), as appears to be the case here …

“And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt 25:46)

But, this is NOT the case … because as with everything else …
What was given to you when you were born again MUST be maintained (see the Note below).

People were righteous BEFORE Jesus came on the scene

“And they (Zacharias and Elizabeth) were both righteous before God,
walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” (Luke 1:6)
“For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Matthew 9:13)

What you are doing (in obedience due to love and appreciation) is what Jesus is interested in!

For example … You are responsible for maintaining your righteousness

“In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation
whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” (Acts 10:34-35)

“… you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1 John 2:29)

“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous,
just as He is righteous.” (1 John 3:7)

“… so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” (Romans 6:19)

“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey,
you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether (slaves) of sin leading to (eternal) death,
OR (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness?” (Romans 6:16)

Paul was talking purely theoretically (he actually was teaching and exhorting),
when he wrote, “… having become slaves of God,
you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” (Romans 6:22)

If they really were slaves of God, etc., Paul wouldn't have written Romans 6!
Instead, because of their sinning, he was threatening them with eternal death!

Yes, Paul instructed the Christians in Rome to be slaves of God, slaves of obedience,
and slaves of righteousness … to be sanctified unto holiness, resulting in eternal life.
Hey, maybe they all did become slaves! ... 'Tis possible.

Note: Scripture also reveals the necessity for believers to …
do the will of God in various ways, maintain our faith until the end of our lives,
abstain from sin, confess and repent of sin, etc. to maintain our salvation!

IMO, some BACs are not as righteous as they think are!

Righteousness in the old covenant (just for interest sake):

Proverbs 10:16 • The labor of the righteous leads to life, the wages of the wicked to sin.
Ezekiel 33:18 • When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity,
he shall die because of it.
Malachi 3:18 • Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
1 Kings 8:32 • justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.
Isaiah 56:1-2 • Thus says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness …”

How's this for a wise prediction (I don't prophesy): This will be another very ignored thread.
Hey! No biggie! I'm used to it.

Hmmm ... Perhaps you mean Jesus is practicing righteousness for us?
Yes, I guess He is an "everyone", but the translators forgot to put caps on the "e"!
... Aaaah, yes, I get it ... took me a while.

Okay, who's next? ... Step right up, please. Gracias.

How can you improve or maintain sinless perfection?? That is what is imputed to true believers. You don't know the difference between imputed versus imparted righteousness. You cannot improve upon, maintain, sustain or retain sinless perfection by any kind of less than sinless efforts on your part!

That leaves IMPARTED righteousness which is of TWO sorts. There is the imparted righteousness received by the creative work of God (Eph. 2:10; 4:24; Col. 3:10) contained in the very image and nature of the inward man. That is a work of creation which you can neither improve upon, maintain, sustain or retain by any kind of less than sinless efforts on your part.

That leaves only the imparted righteousness through progressive sanctification whereby the inherent righteousness contained in the inward new man created in righteousness and true holiness is worked out into your EXPERIENTIAL life as "good" works. However, that righteousness has nothing to do with obtaining or losing entrance into heaven because that righteousness is progressive, partial and never complete in this life but is simply provides a measurement of spiritual growth.

The only righteousness that can obtain heaven is imputed sinless as that is the only possible kind that can satisfy the laws full demands for justification. The child of God is raised completely sinnless in the resurrection at the coming of Christ BEFORE He stands in judgement of his works thus proving the works of righteousness which we have done have nothing to do with entrance into heaven (Tit 3:5) but only with our present experience, growth, joy, usefulness and rewards in heaven.

Evangelist-7,

I hope I can give a little friendly advice. Try to get rid of the sarcastic icons and language. I surely hope you don't evangelize the lost like you talk to us in here.

NONE were ever right with God based upon behaviour, as ALL have fallen short of the glory of god, and NONE have ever kept the law, save for Jesus!

jesus kept the law perfectly, God credits/reckons his obedienvce towards me, and I am fully justified in christ, to God, just as right with him as jesus is!

Yes, I surely do not, that's for sure!

Can you figure out the difference between the 2 groups?

BACs have the Scriptures, churches, teaching, the Holy Spirit, etc.
by which they SHOULD be more in tune with Scriptural truth, but alas they are NOT!

Hast thou ever read about the Laodicean church in Rev 3?
Hast thou ever seen Laodicean churches where you live?
The answer to both qvestions should be a resounding YES!

The Loadicean BACs today REFUSE TO BELIEVE
the warnings/threats of Jesus and the epistle writers!

And as such, do they deserve any respect?

Did Jesus show any respect to the Laodicean church?

So why aren't you then? Many here have tried to help you see, but you still refuse to get in tune with the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. This is puzzling, since you say a born again Christian should be in tune, which you profess to be, but yet you are not in tune! What's up with that? It's like Jesus said, get the plank out of your eye and then you can help your brothers with their specks.

You know, what I see 99% of the time from you guys is a whole lot of
venting of your frustrations @ the Scriptures I am posting.

A whole lot of emotional opinions ... and a whole lack of supporting Scriptures!

To be righteous and to be on the way to eternal life, you need to actually be
a slave of righteousness (Romans 6), and actually practicing righteousness ...

“… you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1 John 2:29)

“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness
is righteous, just as He is righteous.” (1 John 3:7)

The very least you could do is to admit that you do NOT understand
why these verses are in the NT ... because you guys think you are already righteous!

News Flash!
You are NOT righteous unless you are a slave of righteousness, i.e. fully practicing righteousness.

You MUST have had a different revelation than Apostle Paul had from God, for he was revealed the great truth that sinners aree fully justified by the blood of Chrsit, that God declares us as rightious as jesus Himself!

Define "fully practicing righteousness" for us. Then we can see if we are measuring up to your standard for obtaining eternal life.

Sure does. And its Jesus who reveals it

MATT.19 [16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, GOOD MASTER, WHAT GOOD THING SHALL I DO, THAT I MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

I believe in another thread you confessed that you sin everyday, which is being honest, we all do. Not sure how that fits in with "keeping the commandments".

And you have in your signature about "habitual sin", Don't know just how that fits into sinning everyday either, everyday sounds kinda habitual to me.

Overcoming sin is all about having the correct heart attitude.
Sin, yes ... but then sincerely confess/repent of it, and try to do better.

This process is what being "sanctified unto holiness" is all about.
You and the Holy Spirit together CAN combine to bring you through as an overcomer!
After all, what is God's Spirit doing inside of you anyway? ... Why is He there?
To convict you of your unrighteousness (because you are sinning).
If you were to "practice righteousness", you would be not sinning.

IMO, there are 2 types of habitual sin (doesn't have to be daily):
-- habitually doing one or more sins without repentance (which sends you to hell, if not overcome).
-- habitually doing one or more sins with sincere repentance (which will be eventually overcome).

1 John 1:
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

he did NOT want to get saved, he wanted to exault himself before Jesus as being this great law keeper, Jesus used those own lies to expose Him as the fraud that he never knew he was!
