What Amy said......
Nicholas, it means exactly what it says. Once you are saved don't do stuff that grieves God. Live your faith. Be a witness. He has sealed you until the Rapture or your death, whichever comes first. Nothing can change that. You are OSAS whether you believe it or not. Don't disappoint One who is sooooo gracious to you! If you stumble, run to 1 John 1:9, not to restore your salvation, but to restore moment-by-moment fellowship with Him. No one "works" for salvation in the first place, or to maintain it!! It is God's grace, your faith, and even your faith to believe comes from Him! Celebrate it!
Read John 15:7. If you are grieving God by your words and behavior, you are out of fellowship. You can ask what you will 'til you are blue in the face and it ain't gonna happen. That's why 1 John 1:9 is there. Go for it!
p.s. I like what one writer said about it: "You know that I’m not just talking about making a mental acknowledgment and you’re all right. No, what I’m talking about is a Holy Spirit driven belief, that my eternal destiny is based on what He did for me on that Cross."
