Shamed by a missionary

    We are in the middle of our annual missions conference with Nationals Outreach Worldwide. One of the missionaries from Cuba, speaking through an interpreter, revealed that he gave $15 of his monthly support to other missionaries on the field. He does so because God gives him all he needs for his family. We did not think this was highly remarkable until the director, speaking later, told us how he was suprised to learn this fact since the missionaries live on $30 a month TOTAL support! There were not many dry eyes in the church as we considered the unselfishness and dependence on God that this man has.

    The sad thing is--it is amazing what people get by on.

    One lady in Ukraine gets 35 american dollars for support--which, I guess in Ukrainian dollars, that would be at least 175, depending on the exchange rate.

    Makes you wonder what we do with money.

    Seriously, Its sad the stuff that I see go on.

    Poverty is mean. Those poor dears everywhere. I just want to hug them all and give them all something better. Thank you for Jesus! Because Ernie, He can do it. We can't depend on everyone else to do it.

    It starts with each one of us.

    I know what ya mean. I can't watch the news without crying when I see those people in foreign contries, so poor, living on whatever they can get. And the children...I can't stand to think of those little ones dieing of hunger and sickness. ANd some of them have never even heard the gospel. They're trusting in some pagan god to get them to heaven.
    I'm thankful for our missionaries, and the people they reach. One of our missionaries came this morning, and told about what was going on in the contries he works with. It's precious to hear about the ones who do get saved.
    I only hope they continue to reach more.

    More: this morning Mr. Fatch, missionary to & from Malawi told us more. He lives in a country of 12 million, 2 million of which are orphans. He was saved from sin in 1999. Since then he has helped start 175 churches! (you read that right!). He and his fellow preachers have led in the person-to-person conversions of over 100,000 individuals! Praise God for this kind of amazing salvation, and for sending it to a land that is hungry for it. Again, I must say, God used this man to humble me. I was put to shame with his zeal and faith. My prayer is that God will put a tender heart in me, and in my brothers & sisters in Christ.

    Greetings Everyone!

    My name is Brian and I have the proviledge of serving both God and my country as an Army Chaplain's Assistant...I am not a Chaplain, but to avoid confusion I am a Ministry Team NCO - What I do best is free the Chaplain's hands so that the Chaplain can do what he does best.

    Most importantly, I am a Christian...I came to Christ through the ministry of a missionary to the military. If I may, I would like to express my gratitude to those missionary couples, regardless of denomination, who faithfully serve God by reaching out to our young men and women serving in the Armed Forces - with evangelistic ministry and then "follow-up" ministry. The fruit is that many missionaries who've blazed trails for outreach in other nations started out by getting saved and discipled while serving in the military. And many Christians currently serving in the military will go on to serve as local pastors and missionaries. I thank God for missionaries that He has called to minister to the military community!
