Should I take communion?

If I'm not in the right frame of mind, should I still take communion?

That would be the time to take communion.
Return to the flock, seek the Lord, desire his presence.

1 Cor.11:23 provides some guidance, using the phrase, “unworthy manner”.
As long as your desire is to set things straight with God, commune with the people of God... be part of the body of Christ.

I agree with @Deacon Another way to put it is if you are contrite (repentance) in your heart over your sin, you should joyfully partake.

Perhaps the question is why are you not in the frame of mind of a born anew indwelt believer? If you are still "fleshy" are you not actually committed (all in) to Christ? Is it possible you are mired like those of Hebrews 6:1-2?
