No. He has not been able to get the Yankees to the World Series for years now. Leave him alone. :)

It depends on whether the moves he makes costs them a series. For example, Grady Little not taking Pedro out in Game 7 of the '03 ALCS cost him his job, as it should have.

For his own good...yes. Steinbrenner is a real jerk.

I voted other. I don't think you fire a guy like Joe Torre, but I could see them sitting down with him and having a long talk to maybe convince him to retire. He is getting pretty old. I don't think they want to fire him. They would much rather see him retire, because he is so popular and just a really nice guy.

If the Yankees would have been swept, then it would have been a more difficult matter. I think they will take the Indians to 5 and Torre will be safe. If the Yankees win this series, then Torre is definitely safe.

The Tribe should start CC tonight and Carmona in game 5. If they start Byrd, then this series is definitely going back to Bug Town.

    Agreed, Andy.

Sabathia on 3 days of rest would be better than Byrd on 4, 5, or more days of rest. Is this another example in these playoffs where teams aren't doing everything they can to win the game in front of them?

No, don't fire Torre, then Steinbrenner will want to hire Charlie Manual.

I don't think he ought to be fired. I think he ought to quit and come down to Tampa and become the Rays manager. :praying:

I'm not sure that George is calling the shots right now. His health is not good. His family may be the ones to make that decision.

From what I'm hearing, cooler heads, in the form of George's sons, appear to be prevailing. I expect Torre to be back in '08.
