Support H.R. 1146, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act, and similar legislation to remove parliamentary authority from the United Nations, and return that authority to the U.S. Congress, to whom it is vested by the people of the United States.

Just signed it. Don't think it will do much good though as I don't think President Bush or the liberals in Congress will really listen to us, the American people. They seem to be more concerned these days about what the Anti-American Jew Haters of the "Arab Street" and "European Street" think. We are becoming less and less a country of the people, by the people and for the people of America. And more and more a country that is subservient to lesser countries and their idiotic opinions. Just my opinion.

It's about this little thingie we enjoy that we like to call...freedom. [IMG] The more of it we lose in government the closer we come to losing it individually. The rank stench of government control is already starting to waft down into the public. Thank God Bush took a step in the right direction and our eyes were opened to how we've been giving it up slowly but surely and heading toward everything the U.S. has always stood against.

But with freedom comes responsibility and a degree of accountability to others. Freedom is not and cannot be totally unfettered - we all have obligations to others in a civilised society in order for that society to function adequately; similar considerations apply to a society of nation-states. It's sad that certain factions in the US seem to no longer want to participate in that society just because sometimes that society doesn't let the US get it's own way.

BTW, how can you praise Bush and complain about the 'rank stench of government' in the same breath??

Actually, I think you have mistaken me for someone who gives a rip what the Anti-American, Jew Hating "Arab" and "European" street thinks. To set the record straight, I don't care one bit what you think of my country. You don't live here and therefore, your opinion means next to nothing to mean about what you think about my country. But, cheer up, I am sure the feeling is mutual. You guys don't seem to care what Americans think about your country either.

Sounds like we're having the best traditions of godd old English criket manifested here: the US v The Rest of the World. Grow up, guys.

If by grow up, you mean becoming Pro UN, Anti-American Jew Haters, I think I will continue on as a child. I will pass. I will leave that stuff to the "enlightened" few in Europe and on the "Arab Street". [IMG]

Joseph, what the heck is the 'Arab Street'? And what the heck does being critical of US foreign policy have to do with being 'Jew hating'? And what the heck are you on?

The "Arab Street" is a term invented by the liberal communist media here in America to refer to what the terrorists in Arab countries think about America. Watch the news every now and then and maybe this term will not be unfamiliar to you.

And what the heck does being critical of US foreign policy have to do with being 'Jew hating'?[/QUOTE]

It is no real secret that most Europeans and Arabs hate the Jews. Get your head out of the sand and wake up.

And what the heck are you on?

WOW! That was a mean statement... ;)

I am high on liberty and sovereignty of America. We ahve more freedom than any other country in the world. I love America and it's liberty. Oh,...you were trying to imply that I am doing crack or drugs or something, right? You see, we who love America and God don't do things liike that. Maybe you are confused being from Europe, which promotes all kinds of immorality such as drugs, prostitution, assisted suicide. I guess a more realistic question would be, what are most Europeans on?

I said government control, not government. There's a major difference. [IMG]
It's already been proven that they were wrong in not wanting America to "get her own way". Following their advice and leading in this situation would have been dangerous not only to the US but possibly to many other nations. I can't see a bit of good in continuing a relationship with a group that has already shown themselves to be detrimental to our cause.

Saying "NO" to the One World Government aspirations of the (self-serving, sanctimonious, hypocritical, self-righteous, self-centered, anti-GOD, & EVIL) U.N. and those who support their agenda.

So, true, Matt Black, and that includes the evil UN who is accountable to no one, apparently.

Atrocities committed by UN troops - Somalia

LURD’s Atrocities In Liberia and UN’s Tacit Support

Military innocent: UN to blame for Timor atrocities

    United Nations "Peacekeepers" Raise Hell

Bearing in mind, of course, that some of the very members that now sit so sanctimoniously & piously on the UN Human Rights commission have committed some of the worst atrocities of all time, i.e., Cuba, Libya, and others (while having the audacity to vote the US off of that Commission when we were the ones who started it & sat on that committee since 1947). :(

The UN has become an evil caricature of what it was intended to be.

Hoping to shed more light than heat, I make these comments for our non-USAian readers.</font>
    • Since the founding of the Republic (we weren't worth a spit to anybodyelse under the Articles of Confederation), the US as followed the advice given by George Washington in his Farewell Address.
Though at the time, the good General was speaking to what to day we would call a Third World country. Then, the problem was trying not to get smooshed between France, Great Britian, and Spain.</font>
    • As a consequence of the above, the US up until the First World War, while not isolated in her dealings with foriegn countries, was fairly unilateral in her dealings with them.</font>
    • Taken in the context of US history, the current administration's foriegn policy harkens back to the first Roosevelt presidentcy (Theodore Roosevelt that is). However, folks in the rest of the world expect us to continue to act in line with the philosophy of the second Roosevelt presidentcy (FDR). The rub is that FDR's foriegn policy legacy was one dictated by +/- fifty years of war (WW2 and the Cold War). Now, to the consternation of many, General Washington's political DNA comes into play.</font>

I believe we need to return to soverienty and self-rule. Our people allowed ourselves to be dragged into the UN before we fully understood the ramifications. I mean look at the Nations who are on the Human Rights committee. Some of the best known violators of human rights. I say get out.

Not sure what that means, since Ronal Reagan was a liberal democrat at the time the UN was created.

Johnv, in answer to your question about the UN:

Feb. 14, 1919: U.S. President Woodrow Wilson submitted the Draft Covenant for a League of Nations which was the predecessor to the United Nations.

    -----------------

Ronald Reagan might have been a liberal democrat at some point in time but I don't think he was involved in politics at the time the UN was created. I think he was busy with his acting career back then. [IMG]

Signing a petition urging withdrawal from the U.N. was the original question here. I have never been fond of the U.N. and their policies, but, I wonder if it has been thought out what would be the ramifications of withdrawing.
Gone would be our voice in international affairs. Gone would be our veto power in the Security Council and who knows what dumb resolutions they would be able to pass.
Besides, getting it through congress and the President signing it? Let's be real.
I have taken your side on every post I have read of yours SheEagle, just can't this time.
    Respectfully, Charles
