Signing Day and Kiffin's apology

National Signing Day has now passed, and as usual for the last decade or so, there are few surprises... few, not none. Tennessee has to be one of them, signing 2 former Florida commitments, Nu'Keese Richardson and Marsalis Teague. But at a breakfast this morning, Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin, speaking of Richardson, said, "I love the fact that Urban [Meyer] had to cheat and still didn't get him." This caused an uproar, with the SEC Commissioner reprimanding Kiffin and saying Meyer's actions of calling Richardson at the time he was in an official campus visit at Tennessee did not violate recruiting rules, and the Florida Athletic Director has demanded, and now received, an apology from Kiffin.

As Tennessee plays at Florida next season, that is set up as an interesting game already. Was this Kiffin's attempt to re-energize a historically winning program against the reigning king of the conference and college football? Or is he actually ignorant of 'codes of ethics' among coaches in the SEC, or anywhere, which prohibit defaming other institutions or fellow coaches?
