    Preach the Word.

    Acts of the Apostles 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

    2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

    The function of the church is to proclaim the gospel of Christ. Period. Seek out the sheep and feed the sheep, not to entertain the goats.

    My church does a version of all six of these things, plus more. We gave up on building-centric ministry a very long time ago (probably more than 50 years ago). While we certainly have a building and prominent physical presence in the community, we don't wait for people to come to us.
