I am a little hesitant to reply to this thread, since "musician" is by no means my primary identity. But I am enjoying, in my retirement years, serving as the volunteer organist at the church where I am now a member. Of course I play the piano as well. The organ I have access to is not, sadly, a pipe organ .. it is a 3-manual Rodgers, Model 990 .. but it is helping our congregation worship, and I can resuscitate my old skills on it. Someday I will get a chance to blow those pipes again!

Anything brass, especially lower brass. Playing tuba in a community band right now. (Anyone have a tuba you're not planning to use anytime soon?) Also sax and some percussion.

I have a minor in piano - but my right hand and left hand aren't speaking to each other right now (and not since college).

Alto sax, soprano sax, alto clarinet, (a little) B-flat clarinet
Piano, Keyboards (that's my #1 enjoyment), latin percussion

    and one oddball: the hurdy-gurdy.

Is a Hurdy Gurdy easy to play?

I remember Spencer Tracy playing one in a movie. He was a fisherman or something.

    Does a voice count?

I played the concert tuba many moons ago as well...

And, I am a novice guitar player (aren't we all?).

I would like to learn mandolin if time ever allows.

IMO it's not too hard to "play around on." The novelty of it works in your favor (not a lot of "better players" to make you look bad).

    But it's hard to master.

Some interesting folks have taken it up over the years...two of them being Sting and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.

(trust me, that's the only area of life I plan to emulate those two...'specially Mr. Tyler!)

Guitar - well kind of, sort of. So far I can play a few chords and strum a bit. And I am starting to have the calluses on my left hand to prove it. :)

I also played cornet and baritone a long time ago when I was in junior high and high school. I played well enough on baritone my last two years in high school to earn a trip to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest by getting a Division I on my baritone solo at the regional contest. I also earned a spot in the San Patricio County All-Star Band on cornet when I was in junior high school before I switched to baritone because our band needed another one.

It doesn't take much to be more technologically advanced than me. . .I've just now mastered the use of a power surge cord.

By the way, can anyone here play the juice harp? Do they even make those things anymore?

My primary instruments are the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and the dobro. I can also play the banjo....but just barely. Not even close to being accomplished with it.

I've been called a lot of things, "musician" will never be one of them. I hold guitar and try to look cool, but maybe I should just stay silent...

At one time, trumpet, f-horn, baritone, tuba, sax, percussion, piano. Now I tinker on the piano, drums and guitar. Just enough to entertain myself and annoy everyone else :)
