I had a GREAT week-end. My kids all live out of state and I had three of them and eight of my grandchildren here for three days. I am worn out and I don't want to cook for a few days [IMG] but I am happy and truly blessed! [IMG]

My church extended a call today to a new senior pastor. 91.8% vote which was impressive.

As an interim/missionary, it is always hard to finally leave a church, but it is so good to see a group going forward and finding God's will and taking the next steps of faith.

And I will continue preaching/teaching there for a few more months.

Also, our first classes begin Tuesday in our College/Seminary here and we are looking foward to a new term beginning.

God is good to me, that's for certain sure! [IMG]

Hey Guys and Girls: Our Bus Ministry has been going since June 2002. For a long time nothing happened. A friend of mine , and myself began visiting ever Sat. to find children that had no way to church. In the past month we have seen our work rewarded. We have been blessed to see 7 of the kids that ride our bus get saved. Next Sunday, he and I are starting a new believers Sunday School class. We have about 10 people signed up already and this is a church of about 250 members. Pray for us to direct these new converts the right direction. [IMG] Rick Sr.

I'm closer to my goal of having enough money to pay my lawyer, does that count? [IMG]

There are now lime flavored tic tacs.

Symphony candy bars were buy one get one free at CVS. The big ones. Yay!

My oldest daughter made me a Valentine's day card and gave it to me early. (today)

I found a box of chocolate pudding mix I'd forgotten I bought.

February is right around the corner. I like that month! [IMG]

    Well... Let's see...

I took a 2 1/2 hour (one-way) drive to my home town to see about getting some good Italian sausage because what passes for Italian sausage here in the Cream City is not the real deal.

I saw how well the house I grew up in has been kept.
    I'm thankful for that.

I stopped in three grocery stores in the neighborhood but, sadly, they've succumbed to the evil (name brand) too so I just drove around looking at the old places that have changed just enough to make home look unfamiliar.
Actually, I'm thankful for that too. It's been blessed with prosperity.

I went down a new road that wasn't there before, and not knowing where I was going, I ended up having to turn around because it just ended, it wasn't finished yet. Then, just down the cross road a little ways was a grocery store so I said to myself, "why not stop in while I'm here".

When I drove up I noticed that this big store had an Italian name, it had 10 or more American flags and just as many Italian flags on the roof flying right next to teach other! It would seem that I got lost and my loving, Heavingly Father drove me right to the place where, you guessed it, they sold the sausage that I was looking for! God is GREAT, God is GOOD, Lord I thank You for this food!

Then, on the way home (another 2 1/2 hours), I got to help someone stuck on the road. His car needed a jump, he had cables, GREAT!

Then, I stopped off at the Japanese grocery up the road to get some good Sen-Cha (loose leaf green tea) that I cannot get in Milwaukee.

I missed most of the Super Bowl, but I wouldn't trade this day for all the Super Bowls combined.

    Thank You Father!!

Psalm 36:5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. 6Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. 7How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. 8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. 9For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. 10O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. 11Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

My Oncologist says my leukemia-like blood disease is in remission and my cardiologist says my heart is doing fairly good except for a thickened muscle (I had heart surgery at age 48, two years ago). My medication has been cut back, including chemo.

God is strong in my weakness. I truy rejoice in Jesus My Savior.

I've only missed preaching two Sundays during the last two years of my "sudden" health problems. Wow! God is GOOD!

My wife and I have recently bought our first home, which we never thought we'd be able to afford. We've now been in it for 6 months! (although last night I had a strange dream that I was showing it to a prospective buyer!)

I got an email from a good friend in Jackson, MS, inviting me back to her church whenever I'm in the area there.

Hey John, Sea World in S.D. is great. I loved it there, much more fun than the zoo.

Brother rufus, I'm a non-Hodgekins lymphoma survivor. My prayers go out for you, and my personal thanx for having such a great attitude.

    Sister Sherrie,
If folks only knew--remember that buddy of mine and his wife living in Africa--SBC Missionaires?? Everytime I remotely think I have a problem--I just read some of his E-Mail--compared to him, I ain't got no problems--even my problems aren't problems compared to his problems--but he and I?? Our problems are carried by the Lord Jesus Christ--so that we both can say--"Problems? What Problems??" "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. And He knoweth them that trust in Him."

    Your Southern Baptist preacher buddy,
    Blackbird

Well, as many of you know, on October 25, 2001 I gave birth to my lovely daughter and found out she had Down Syndrome and a heart defect. 2002 was a very busy year for us. Her heart surgery was done last January 2001 was a tremendous success and she really came to life after that!

Of course, after her heart surgery she stopped eating by mouth and we had to feed her through an NG tube in her nose. We finally agreed to have a GTube surgically placed in her stomach last September since she still refused to eat by mouth.

Well, shortly after her birthday (no she didn't touch her birthday cake) she decided she liked macaroni and cheese! She began eating more and more and by Christmas she was taking all of her food by mouth. Her drinking didn't come as easily, but now that we found a cup with a straw, she also takes all of her fluids by mouth too.

She has a kidney problem as well, but it isn't severe and they expect her to outgrow it.

She also had to have tubes put in her ears because the blockage was causing partial hearing loss. It's so wonderful to see her cry because the vacuum is too loud! We had no idea how little she was hearing!

Physically my daughter is doing great develepomentally. A few weeks ago she took her first steps! She is doing most things within the "normal" range except for her speach, but even that is coming along.

So what is going on good in my life right now?

After a year of having to travel 2 1/2 hours to the children's hospital 2 to 3 times a month, we finally got the maintenance point.

We don't need to travel back for 6 months! We will now have to go about 4 to 5 times a year rather than every month!

My daughter is starting to walk and saying mommy now!

These past 14 months we have truly seen God working in our lives. You know he does that for all of us each and every day, we just have to let Him! My daughter is a blessed reminder of the strength and love God has for us. We thank Him for her each and every day. No matter what we had to go through, it was well worth it!

Thank the Lord. Negetivity all the time just pulls me down. I need to feel positive. When I read positivity, I just feel good! I get excited. I love being excited in the Lord!

The Lord does not want us to be bitter, and whinny. He says we are alive! Rejoice! We are the children of God! He gave us His Son, His Spirit, His Army, His breath, His promise; He gave us it all.

We Are Alive! Rejoice! Spread the news! God is good! Thats whats good in my life!

God is Good.....All the time.....God is Good!

Love each and everyone of you!

Going ilnto Chicago on 9/;11/2001 that ASreoflot
