    Niall Ferguson: H G Wells warned us
    Re-reading Wells, says Niall Ferguson, I am struck by the close resemblance between our present unruffled state of mind and the mood of confidence - not to say complacency - he depicted in late Victorian England on the eve of the Martian invasion.

    The above was in my online Telegraph newspaper today ( re terrorist actions )............. Does it not sound familiar.... Think Noah...........

    Giving and taking in marriage??? One day is no different than the next??? Living as if there will always be a tomorrow??

    Treading water is easy----the next flood will be by fire----can't tread fire, now, can we??

    But I see the complacency!!
