This may be the wrong thread so move it if its better somewhere else. I'm looking for some high end software that has multiple translations, concordences and commentaries.

I have seen an advertizing fold out on "Bibleworks4" and it looks pretty good but if anyone out there has some more input it would be very helpful.

I have Bibleworks 4 and LOVE it. I believe there is a later version on the market now. The later version has BAGD on it which "4" does not have. This would make the later version preferable by itself and that is probably not the only improvement.

Online Bible is the best value for the money. You get many of the features you'd find on Logos or that kind of software but paying pennies on the dollar. It is only about $25 for the program, plus a little more to unlock the NASB, NIV, NLT, etc. I'll look for the website in my folder and post it here. I have friends who own Online Bible along with Logos, and the other expensive ones, and they all to a man prefer and use Online Bible.

    ONLINE BIBLE Home page

I am going to move this thread to the "Books and Publications" thread as I believe it is more appropriate there.

What are your thoughts on the Logos software?

I like Logos. Very good software. But it costs a King's ransom. If you have the money, go for it. I personally have both and use Online Bible more. As I stated earlier, many colleagues do the same thing. But Logos does have some books that Online Bible doesn't. Then again, OB has commentaries that Logos doesn't. OB has some translations that Logos doesn't. Logos has more Greek/Hebrew than OB. If you don't have the money to buy Logos (which can cost upwards of $600), I feel very confident in pointing you towards OB for a good program.

If you are looking for multiple version on one CD you might try Power BibleCD.

It is Copyright 2000 by Online Publishing, Inc. 127 N. Matteson Street PO Box 21, Bronson, MI 49028
    bible@mail.com

I access KJV, Louie Segond, Luther, ASV, BBE, Darby, Montgomery, NKJV, RSV, RV, RVA, Weymouth, WEB, and YLT. You can also access the NIV, NASB, and NRSV.

I am not sure how much it sells for, as I got mine free for being a beta tester. [IMG]

You can purchase it and the unlock codes by calling 1-800-243-7124.

I have Bible works 4 and love it. I have seen the info on BW5 and like it even better. The additions are great. I just don't want to pony up the $150 upgrade to have it right now. The BW5 is only 300 now I think which is $100 less than BW4 originally was. One of the nice things about BW is that there are no unlock codes. When you buy it, you buy it all. To get Logos to the place where BW is in terms of translation, language helps, etc., you would have significantly more invested I think.

I didn't like Logos before but I have heard good things about the new Libronix.

I want to put a little plug for the best Bible software i have ever used. It is called e-sword and is comp0letley free. If you point your browser to www.e-sword.net It has many versions, concordances, commentaries, etc. (all free) and it's UI(user interface) is the best I have ever seen. Hovering over superscripted Strong's Numbers the definition comes up as a tooltip. Many features exclusive to itself.
