SOME WILL FALL AWAY FROM THE FAITH

1Timothy 4.1

"Some will fall away from the Faith."

As it have been commented previously, no one knows his or her salvation until the Book of Life will be open. (Revelation 20.12.15, 21.27). But before it happens we rely only on our HOPE for our Salvation, and our Faith in Christ must be proven by our Good Deeds in the Name of Christ. We must be worthy of the Blood of Christ, His Sacrifice for us, and His Forgiveness of our sins, otherwise His Sacrifice and His Salvation would not come to those who is not of His flock.

Paul already knew and predicted the fallout of many Christians long before it will happen in mass, because in his time Paul already saw how many people are fallen away from Christ. These are those who at first accept Christianity, but then after a while turned around and went back to the world. They betrayed their Christian principals and ideals and went back to the world to seek the opportunities in wealth and in pleasures (1Timothy 6.10).

Even worse, by staying in the church, such people converted the church into a business of making money and ruin the true Faith of many who decided to follow them (Isaiah 56.6-7) (Jeremiah 7.9-11) (Matthew 21.13) (Mark 11.17) (Luke 19.45).

Such people who fall away from the Faith in Christ can be compared to Esau, who sold his first birth right for a bowl of pottage (Genesis 25.29-34).

The Parables of Christ also reflect this issue and describe different Faith in different people (Matthew 13.1-9) (Mark 4.1-9) (Luke 8.4-8).

When Christ said, "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me, scatters." (Matthew 12.30) (Luke 11.23), it meant not only those who are in the world, but also those who are fall away from their Faith in Him.

No one can Serving Two Masters: (Matthew 6.24) (Luke 16.13), means serve the Christ and at the same time live like the world live (1Timothy 6.10). For this reason, Christ also said, "for many be called, but few chosen." (Matthew 20.16, 22.14) (Luke 14.24).

So, those who preach, "whoever saved is saved," actually preaching truth but they twisted the meaning and applied it as assurance and not as Hope. Only GOD knows who is saved and who is not and this is the end of all arguments. Those who preach this false doctrine, with assurance that all are saved who believe in Christ, preach falsehood and give False Hope, because far not everyone who believe in Christ is following Him.

"Believe in Christ and be saved" is very general terminology that calling all people to Christ. But far not all who believe in Christ are truly believers and are saved, because "believing in Christ" means to follow Christ in everything He has preached and teach and live according to His Statutes and Commandments. Follow the Christ also means obey His Gospel and live by it, which of course many "Christians" do not do, but only claim that they are Christians.

And even demons believe and shudder before Christ. Do they also saved? (James 2.19) (Matthew 8.29) (Mark 1.34) (Luke 4.34.41).

Everybody will be judged according to their Deeds and not according to their words. Faith without Good Works in the Name of Christ is useless (James 2.14-26), and many claim that they have Faith in Christ but have no Good Deeds in His Name, and so, if they have No Good Deeds in the Name of Christ, they do not have Christ, they are alone in this world.

The statement of Paul in his Epistle to Hebrews completely destroys the false narrative of assurance of salvation just for believing in Christ, because it said that those who have been enlightening in Gospel of Christ and then fall away for whatever reason, impossible to turn back to Christ (Hebrews 6.4-6). They lose their one and only Chance and Hope for Salvation and will perish together with the rest of the world.

Besides our Faith we are also have a conscience, and our own conscience plays essential role in our Faith in Christ. If our own conscience is weak and did not attach itself to the principals and ideals of Christ, this also mean failure in Faith once obtained through the Christ's Gospel (1Timothy 1.19).

We first conscientiously driven to the principals and ideals of Christ and then explore and adapted His way of life that in return generated true Faith in Him. Those who has weak conscience or not have it at all, also may attached themselves to ideals of Christ, but they have no Faith due of lack of conscience, and spent their life as false Christians that do not benefit them.

GOD constantly tests our Faith in Christ (James 1.2-8) without our knowledge, and those who fail to follow His Statutes and His Commandments of His Spiritual Gospel, such "Faith" is nullified, it is "dead," and does not lead to Salvation.

As it have been commented previously, no one knows his or her salvation until the Book of Life will be open.
Have you not read these things, Alex?

" Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
( 1 John 5:1-13 ).

It's not just about hope ...there are also spiritual evidences that are present immediately after the new birth, and true spiritual fruit ( see Galatians 5:22-23 for a list of those fruits ) that becomes more abundant and increasingly visible as a child of God grows both in knowledge and in grace over the course of one's lifetime.

My friend, please read 1 John again... as the evidences for one that is truly saved are found there, as well as in other places in His word.
His people can actually know whether or not they are saved.

However, I do agree that there are many out there who are not God's people and who think that they are...and do not have His Spirit and were never His.
These are the ones who fall away into apostasy, ultimately love this world and its ways, and have only ever made a profession of faith but in works deny truly knowing Him.

May God bless you.

Yes, I read these passages and more. Do not consider general terminology as the final answer to this issue, read also passages that describes specifically and in details of how believe in Christ and its following salvation works. Do not stop on few things, read them all.

James, (most likely the brother of Christ) perfectly explained it in more details what it means to believe in Christ.

James 2.19
19. You believe that GOD is One, you do well, the demons also believe and shudder.

~ 19. "Demons know Who is Jesus Christ and afraid" (Matthew 8.29) (Mark 1.34) (Luke 4.34.41) (James 2.19).

We all believe in Christ, people and demons. Are we all deserving salvation just because we believe that Christ is GOD? So, what the difference between us and demons, we all believe in the same GOD?

Read entire chapter 2 of James, it may also guide you to the right answer and understanding.
GOD blees you.

Are we all deserving salvation just because we believe that Christ is GOD?
No.
So, what the difference between us and demons, we all believe in the same GOD?
Because some of us understand and believe this, with all our hearts:

" And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? [It is] God that justifieth.
"

Alex,
Not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord" will enter into the kingdom of Heaven...
But Christ's sheep will.

We have the faith that is the gift of God ( Ephesians 2 ) and the evidence of God's working in us ( Hebrews 11 ).

I wish you well, sir.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.->(Brimstone?->Isaiah 30:33 combined with Revelation 19:20 and 21:8, take a look)

And some will have never been genuinely of Christ.

Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2Peter 3:11-13:

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be DISSOLVED(dissolved as in a great IMPLOSION), what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the Day of G0D->(Lord's Day,seventh and last Day or seventh and last millennium),
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be DISSOLVED->(YEAH, dissolved->Hebrews 8:13, whoso reads, let him understand-

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens (THE NEXT IS THE 3RD HEAVEN) and a new earth (NEW ISRAEL), wherein dwelleth righteousness. ->(THE PARADISE, the Garden of GOD-Acts 3:17-26, take a look)

1 Corinthians 3:13-15:

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the Day shall declare it->(the seventh and last Day), because it shall be revealed by FIRE; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time->(the CURRENT time, get ready): and at that time(the current time) thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life,

3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

10 - Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Revelation 22:10-12

10 And He saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Be sure that what was done in Sodom and Gomorrah, and neighbouring cities, Michael will do now, even now, and from now on, in the world as whole, under the command of the Lord. There will be WAR against three UNCLEAN SPIRITS like frogs:->Revelation 16:13-15, and keep in mind mainly verse 15.

Genesis 19:12-17
12
And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while Lot lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

Revelation 11:15-18

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before GOD on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped GOD,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord GOD Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy WRATH is come,->(Isaiah 26:19-21 combined with Romans 2:5-12, and 2 Thessalonians 1:7-12 and 2 Peter 3:7 and mainly Revelation 6:14-17, take a look) and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will [fn]fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

Fn "i.e. apostatize"

Just what is meant by the vague phrase, fall away from the faith? Some wrongly use this verse to push the false doctrine of loss of salvation. But here "faith" refers to the gospel information that we believe, or in other words some will teach another gospel. See 1 Timothy 6:20-21 for the same usage of the phrase.

Concerning losing salvation, what is your understanding of this, Van?

Ezek. 18:21-24

"But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die."

I guess what I'm asking is how can a righteous man turn from his righteousness? What does that mean?

Is there any example in Scripture of how this can be explained?

Matthew 7:21-23. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. but he who does the will of My Father in heaven...." OK, so what is the will of the Father? John 6:28-29. 'Then they said to Him, "What shall we do that we may work the works of God?" Jesus amswered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."' So the will of the Father is for people to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
But what about these people? "Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practise lawlessness!'"
Note this: "I never knew you." Never! Not while you were making false professions of faith; not while you were making false prophesies, or pretending to cast out demons. I didn't know you once and then forget about you; I never knew you.
The Lord Jesus knows His sheep, and His sheep know Him (John 10:14). There are many varieties of sheep, and the Lord's sheep are a special breed. They are distinguished by their ears and their feet. They hear the Shepherd's voice and they follow Him (John10:27). And He gives them eternal life.

Four kinds of hearers.

Luke 8:11-15, Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

VAN what you saying is that some will fall away from a false faith and turn to the real faith.

But that is not what the bible teaches. You cannot fall away from a faith that you did not have.

1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith,

Are you saying that God does not know what is going to happen?

And now, even now, from now on, Matthew 25:32-34 and and 41 and 46 will fulfill LITERALLY.

32
And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall SEPARATE them one from another as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:->(REVELATION 11:15-18, THERE WILL BE WAR against the world of Devil-Revelation 12:7-17 and Revelation 16:13-15 and Revelation 6:14-17, take a look. The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, Self-Executing, Self-Executable, around 2000 years ago the Word was made flesh, understand? )

33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. ->(This will fulfill LITERALLY from now on).

34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:->(Matthew 5:5 combined with Revelation 5:10, take a look)

41 Then shall the King say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye CURSED, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:->(Romans 2:6 and 8-9)
but the righteous into life eternal.->(Romans 2:6-7)

Matthew 25:6-13

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. ->(As all can see, who went to by oil and who was selling oil, they all lost their souls for all eternity).

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. ->( Yes, it's impossible to know when day 1335 will be-Daniel 12:12. By the way, day 1334 will be the last day of this current world of the Devil, the MAN of sin, the son of perdition->2Thessalonians 2:3-13.
