A truck-driving student is in custody in Boston after raising suspicions when he wasn’t interested in learning how to back up his rig.
WLVI-TV (Ch. 56) reported last night that the would-be trucker is a 28-year-old Muslim from India and had overstayed his visa. An investigation is under way to see whether there is any connection between his unusual behavior and a terrorism plot. Federal authorities were alerted by instructors at the Nationwide Tractor Trailer Driving School in Smithfield, R.I., WLVI reported.
The student was described as a resident of New York, with driver’s licenses from New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island.
“Every indicator was there,” R.I. State Police Major Steve O’Donnell told WLVI. “Any one of these things alone is fine, but four or five together . . . ”

Good job, but he will probably be released for some politically correct reason. Wait until CAIR jumps on the bandwagon, again.

I think we should worry more about legal immigration from muslim countries than illegal immigration from Mexico (still a problem).

Oh, well. They have rights and we do not.

There's good profiling and bad profiling.

“Any one of these things alone is fine, but four or five together . . . ”

That's the good kind, specific and focused, not simply race, nationality or religion.

After 9/11, there were a good number of "profiling" problems in Dallas, where "dark skin, talks funny" lead to a beating. In some cases, they weren't even Muslims.

Potentially criminal behavior is a legitimate profiling criterion. It's sad that some people can't distinguish that from racial profiling.

Even if not a terrorist, he should be deported for overstaying his visa.

Why can't we go after all illegals?

This person, whether terrorist or not, had over-stayed his visa and was, therefore, illegal.

Deport him along with all other illegals.

Right, clincher. Not just a single trait or action.

Yes, we should if we can identify them.
