If I were in a community where people knew the instructions of Christ to His followers - but I could not speak the language, could not write it, could not in any way, shape or form "Communicate" to them except through actions.... would they know I was a Christian?

Don't answer me here. I don't care what your answer is.

    God will care though.

Ask yourself - better yet, ask God tonight in your prayer, "Am I the living example Christ wants me to be?"

BTW, not to split hairs, but it should be:

Something every Christian should ask himself

    or

Something all Christians should ask themselves

    However, this is also acceptible:

Something every Christian should ask him/herself

Could anyone ever know you were a Christians if you could not tell them about Christ?

TexasSKy, you have asked this question or referred to this in other threads...that perhaps we are not showing that we are Christians by our actions.

This must be something that you are concerned about. What do you suggest? What do you think that Christians should do differently to show that we are Christians?

I believe Jesus said it best that people will know we are His be the love we have for each other. Love can cross many language and social barriers.

An incident that happened on one of our cruises:

This was a Christmas cruise and we had been on the ship for three days. Our Dinner steward (an Indonesian) who had served us each evening approached us privately and told us he was a Christian and he knew that we were Christians. He wanted to especially invite us to the Christmas show performed by the service crew who were from many different countries.

I don't know how he could tell we were Christians, but he did.

    Thankful,
Maybe he saw you praying together before your meals?

I don't think so. We usually only pray when we are alone and that would be at breakfast or lunch in the Lido restaurant.

This was in the main dinning room. When we dine in the evening with five other couples, we do not pray before dinner.

    Thankful,

    That is wonderful! [IMG]

I'm not surprised though. In the short time I've known you on the board I've always felt I could feel the spirit of Christ in your words and posts.

Yes, that does give me reason to stop and think about what I do and say. I know Christians who wont have a Christian bumper sticker or the Christian fish emblem on their car because they are afraid they may do something unChristian while driving their car.

There are also the unsaved looking for anything that would put a Christian in a bad light.

One more thing, there is an adage, most of you have probably heard it, it goes like this:

"If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?"

BTW, shouldn't that be, "to split hairs"?

This reminds me of something I tend to dwell on. Do most Christian's really care that the lost are dying and going to hell everyday? I mean does it really bother us? It's just something I'm always thinking about.

Thank you, TexasSKy. You are too kind.

Rachel, another good question to ponder.
