A couple of NYC radio stations have been asking their listeners what music (if any) they would like to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 on Sunday. Top of the polls has been Barber's Adagio with Strings, followed by Copeland's Fanfare for the Common Man. Another frontrunner has been Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending but Bruce Springsteen and Frank Sinatra have also made it into the top ten. Others think that the whole idea is bad taste and the anniversary should be marked by a respectful silence.
