Yes, because there is no governing authority above the church (they are literally independent churches).Do you consider cooperating churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention to be independent churches?

The SBC can't tell you what to do, but they can kick you out.Do you consider cooperating churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention to be independent churches?

No, this is not true. I am actually surprised you didn't know this. Also your local association or state convention may take your church property if you try to leave on your own!
Independent? Ha!
NEGATIVE!!! The only way that can happen is if they have a financial interest in the property. Also your local association or state convention may take your church property if you try to leave on your own!

Say there is a loose organization of IFB that is KJ Only. - well, at one meeting one Pastor Jones decidesThe SBC can't tell you what to do, but they can kick you out.
Good!I have been a member of SBC churches that decided to leave the Convention.

to preach out the "perverted" NKJV- well that group of IFB KJO will never invite Pastor Jones back to their meetings
let alone let him preach. ---- Same difference! They have no power to tell that church to kick out that pastor!
Yes, the SBC wanted to withdraw fellowship from them - BUT the SBC cannot force that church to take a certain action. Was referring to kick out churches. Saddleback ring any bells?
Why? Their leaving (along with several others) simoly reinforces that your post was wrong.Good!
