Apologize for Old and New Racism
The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) overwhelmingly voted last night to repent for its racist actions
there were founding denominational leaders and churches who not only failed to pursue racial reconciliation but also actively worked against it
churches segregated worshipers by race, barred blacks from membership and black churches from joining presbyteries, participated in and defended white supremacist organizations, and taught that the Bible sanctioned segregation and opposed inter-racial marriage

Earlier this month, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Synod also confessed to “the sinful failings of our church in the past in regard to slavery and racism”

Yeah, the PCA apologized for racism. Also, kuddos to the SBC for passing resolutions this year showing they're not racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic. Maybe one day the SBC will apologize for being sexist for following the Bible on male preachers. I wonder if on judgment day, God will accept apologies for not having Jesus as Lord? Good luck with that, all you who grovel to the world.

"Whereas, the heinous sins attendant with unbiblical forms of servitude-including oppression, racism, exploitation, manstealing, and chattel slavery... We therefore confess our covenantal involvement in these national sins... We therefore publicly repent... "

The PCA was founded in 1973.

Churches of Christ join Southern Baptists and Presbyterians in repenting:

http://www.christianchronicle.org/article/open-letters-on-race-call-for-meaningful-engagement
we can acknowledge that racism is a sin and behave accordingly, or we can act as if racism is only a minor problem or, even worse, participate in the racism that scars such large segments of this nation
Half a century ago, Churches of Christ faced a similar crossroads with respect to race and we did not respond well...
