What is the Sovereign Grace of God...

Do we recognize it as Baptist?

Many Baptist today know what is Sovereign Grace but they refuse it in their FAITH...

Ephesians 1:4 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:"

Or this one is good too...

1 Peter 1:2 "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."

God means what He says, and He says what He means...

2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

God will do as He pleases, there is no stopping Him, or telling Him that He is not in charge...

Philippians 2:13 "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

And if we don't like what God says, and what God does, or why God does what He does...

Matthew 12:30 "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad."

If we all got what we had coming to us, we would all be in hell...

Genesis 3:19 "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."

But for some unknown reason, God decided to allow His Grace to save us from ourselves. His character rightously shined through and Grace flowed abundantly where sin try to destroy.

Romans 5:16 "And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification."

Man is totally depraved, and doesn't even know what is good for him. He is dead in sin, and his will is totally enslaved to his own evil nature...

Genesis 6:5 "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

So God made the desicion long before the foundation of the world what was to happen. We have no choice, His will shall be done no matter our will, we do not know any better, God must take the initiative to reconcile to us...

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Then he must lead us by the hand as little babes to do what is needed to once again become what we had thrown away...

Romans 8:30 "Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Once we have seen what it is we have become, and repent. Then God can finally be worshipped by us as He intended when He made us in His image.

God was, God is, and God will be...

    Sovereign in whatever God decides.

Psalm 55:16 "As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me."

Then why is it that those who do not meet those very limited and limiting qualifications as stipulated are also enjoying God's sovereign grace? Indeed, the whole world is enjoying God's sovereign Grace!

Is God forced to save man?

Have we done anything to God that we are deserving of punishment for?

Is God the deity, or is man?

You like to challenge people don't you wes? guess that makes you a 'challenger?' [IMG]

Here are some examples of saving grace in the Bible:

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; )

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Act 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

    9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Even using your Arminian doctrine, since not all people are saved, you must admit that Saving Grace is indicated in Verse 8.

    Pinoybaptist,
We are no going there until you prove that "Saving Grace" is a separate distinct Grace of God! If you can prove that, then I am cornered and must change my way of thinking!

If you cannot prove that such exists, then you must change your way of thinking!

    OldRegular,
We are not going there until you prove you statements about "Saving Grace", thus proving that such exists. By the way, do not use Paul as an example, because it does not support "saving grace".
