Sovereign Salvation

SOVEREIGN SALVATION

God's sovereign salvation is an absolute, final and eternal accomplishment of His grace in Christ alone. Anything less than this does neither defend nor define a Sovereign God, but is simply idolatry. Anything less makes Christ's purpose and work not an accomplished salvation, but a participatory partnership between that which is holy and that which is spiritually dead and vile.

Man's religion will never have a Sovereign God to rule over them, so a lesser god is imagined that they can participate with in this most glorious of all transactions. By this warped view, man is not spiritually dead, but simply sin sick. If man has a free will then he must have some spiritual life remaining that allows him to make a good and right decision. The word of God does not allow for such self righteous vanity and filth.

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

To say that man has a free will in this great matter is a flat denial of plain scripture. It is an argument that faith is not a glorious gift of God, but some innate ability that all men possess if only they would exercise it aright. This is the damnable idolatry of the near totality of modern religion that is an affront to a thrice holy God.

Luke 10:21-22 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

The truth is that Christ actually accomplished salvation through His obedience unto death. It is this accomplished work alone that fully and eternally satisfied the Father's inflexible law and justice in the place of everyone He represented. This representative substitution is absolute and perfect.

This glorious transaction, purposed by God through Christ in eternity is acceptable to God and finished. God has done through the finished work of Christ what no man could ever do. He has satisfied Himself, gloriously, completely and eternally, with nothing lacking. There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus. By His grace He has hidden this truth from the wise and prudent and revealed it unto babes.

God is well pleased with the Son and by extension, well pleased by those He MADE acceptable in Him.

Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

It is a glorious thing to rest in an eternally perfect, accomplished salvation that I neither sought, chose, nor effected in any way. I cannot enhance it nor improve it, for this is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes.

Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
